During my short (10-night) tour of Normandy and Brittany, I stayed at six different hotels, some budget hotels, others more expensive, some good but others less so. It is remarkable that the Logis Hôtel Fontaine, which was the least expensive, was one of the best. Of course it doesn’t compare with hotels charging up to €80+ for dinner – one would hardly expect it to. I started staying here on Tuesday nights a couple of years ago, prior to catching the Wednesday morning sailing from Roscoff to Plymouth, for which an early check-in is required. It is an easy 30-minute drive from the hotel to the port. The hotel is run by a couple, the wife of whom speaks excellent English. My room was of sufficient size for a short stay and had a good workspace, with facilities for making hot drinks. The bathroom was large with good quality fittings and a full-size walk-in shower with two heads – in effect a wet-room that would probably be useful for handicapped guests. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent – a tasty paté, a Brittany sausage and a trio of cheeses, washed down with coffee and cognac. Because of my early departures, I have never sampled breakfast here, but on my next trip, I shall stay for two nights and explore the locality I strongly recommend this hotel

Morlaix is a very nice small village that was easy to get to, drive around and enjoy all the sights. It was not crazy busy which is really nice for getting out to restaurants, bars and the local sights. We really enjoyed walking the viaduct and strolling the old town to see all of the old buildings and poke about the shops!

Morlaix is a small town with an abundance of cobbled streets, medieval buildings, a river marina and a magnificent 19th century Viaduct being it's centre piece, all within easy walking distance. There's an abundance of traditional Tabac's, Cafes, Patisserie's and Restaurants catering for all tastes. Le Grand Cafe de La Terrasse at 31 place des Otages is worth of a particular mention. The town is an ideal centre from which to tour the delights of Brittany with its friendly and hospitable local population.

Had an amazing time in Morlaix and the surrounding areas. There are beautiful beaches, waterfalls, forests to explore by car and walking. We also had a private chef from the area make us incredible meals.

Morlaix is a beautiful medieval city that offers so much, sightseeing, shopping, incredible food. Most incredible was the proximity to the Brittany coast. A short bus ride away (bus stop right across the street from Duc de Bretagne), the coast and seaside towns were so beyond beautiful. I could not imagine a more peaceful place that offers so much opportunity for outdoor activity. I will return soon and often.

Very modern with everything working correctly. The shower was one of the best, a decent size for a large person. The kitchen is brilliant, my wife fell in love with the dish washer as we tend to mainly self cater, using local produce. Free parking about 250 meters up the road and very close to central Morlaix. A short walk to the most excellent Saturday market, oysters, fresh fish etc etc are at bargain prices.

Comfortable, large bed in a quiet room. Our room overlooked the harbour. Short walk into main town with various restaurant options. Very good buffet breakfast offered with many choices. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. Free parking outside the hotel on the quayside usually available, with paid parking nearby.
