Morzine is in a constant state of improvement.
Morzine is in a constant state of improvement. Lots of buidings being updated or replaced. Ski lIfts are regularly updated. Good Apres-Ski. Some good restaurants. A great place to say - lots of variety of shops and bars. Always enjoy the cavenbar and some of the food was fabulous. Morzine seems to be the central village of thé Portes du Soleil. The restaurants and shops are plentiful and quite good. The ski area is not too extensive but the options are to branch out east or west for a more extensive experience. I absolutely loved Morzine.
I absolutely loved Morzine. It has quite a bad reputation for pretty poor skiing however, most days we were there it was great and you can get a bus or gondola up to Avoriaz which is super easy and quick! The food was a standout for us, nearly every restaurant we dined in was exceptional and pretty good value. La Chaudanne and La Grange were two highlights for us! It's very easy to get around with the free buses but I wish the C bus was a little more regular and the app could show you which direction the bus was going in. Really comfy beds with everything you need for a self catered stay. We took their meal delivery option and have to say the food was better than the food In some catered chalets we have been in. Massive portions and very good quality food. Location is very good outskirts of town but with a bus that stops just outside the apartment taking you onto town. Beautiful views. Plenty of blue tracks, Morzine easy connected with Les Gets ski resort and tracks. Restaurants and bars around. Carefour Supermarket 10 min walk down. Near supermarket there are Farmers market every wednesday from 9:00 to 13:00. After skiing and snowboarding we enjoyed relax in private jakuzzi outside chalet. It was useful to be able to keep our boots and skis in the hotel’s own boot room. We chose to eat our evening meals at the hotel, which were good basic fare and saved going out to local restaurants. The family who own la petit chalet also own Nicolas ski shop and gave us an excellent discount on skis, poles and helmets. They were so nice and friendly as was everyone else we met in Morzine.
