We had an amazing night at the chateau! There are 1000 beautiful details here that can be looked at endlessly. Vintage furniture, portraits and the whole chateau in general create incredible atmosphere Separately, I would like to note the hospitality of the owner - Louis! He is so nice and intelligent person! He gave us very interesting tour and told many intriguing things about the chateau and his family. Unique experience! Don’t think - just book ♥️

We chose this property as we were visiting Oradour Sur Glane, scene of a WW11 village massacre and it was about 22 minutes away. The property was in a nice quiet spot down a country lane. Less than a 5 minute drive from Nouic. There was free Wi-Fi in public areas. Sue and Ron couldn’t do enough for us, just as previous reviews have said. We arrived in the afternoon of what was a national French holiday, we were worried that nowhere would be open to eat. Sue made a call and managed to get us in at a lovely restaurant at Mortemart, which was about a 10 min drive away. The rear garden was lovely with plenty of seats and we had a nice drink in the sun. The continental breakfast was excellent and plenty of it, served in a nice breakfast room.

As soon as the front door opens you are greeted by lovely host’s which made you welcome to your stay. Greeted with a drink and conversation to settle you in. Patrick cooked an amazing dinner for me and breakfast was superb.

No breakfast . More honest than the person at Bussiere _Portevine who when we arrived after booking an apartment for 4 nights wanted to put us in a bedroom behind the kitchen in his house. No way .

Very impressed with this beautiful boutique hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and the owner was such a lovely lady. Recommended some lovely local restaurants but as we were tired after a long drive we decided to grab something from the local patisserie to take back to our room. We were offered use of the breakfast room to sit and eat our dinner.. which was very kind. Our breakfast the next morning was full of local produce.. the ham, cheeses, baguettes and honey were delicious.

    Apart from the chateau, built in 1220, being breathtakingly beautiful, its owner, Louis, is the warmly, welcoming, quietly inclusive of hosts one could ever wish for. We have stayed at the chateau three times now and it is always with great regret that we take our leave.
