Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Despite prior confirmation for 5 guests, the host argued aggressively upon arrival and made us feel unwelcome in front of our children. We were only allowed to stay after nearly an hour of confrontation. The kitchen was locked and required extra payment, with no tea, coffee, or fridge access. I always try to book Campanille La Vilette for my stays in...
I always try to book Campanille La Vilette for my stays in Paris, but this time that wasn't available, so I booked Pantin which is on the other side of La Vilette. Facilities are the same as in each Campanille - all good. it is OKish value for Paris comparing to many other hotels i stayed which were much more expensive and frankly much smaller and uncomfortable. Stay near the city hall and canal l'Ourcq. It is very safe, convenient, and beautiful for long walks. Pantin is the new cultural hub of Paris with the headquarters of Hermes and Chanel having moved their headquarters there, the cite de musique, the Thaddeus Ropeac art gallery, a university, and some nice little restaurants not too touristy. Room was basic, but modern design, clean and comfortable. Everything in the room worked and was in order, in fact very good hot shower which some 4 star hotels struggle with.
