Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany.
Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany. It's big enough to have a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Hotels too. Yet, it's small enough you can get out of it into the lovely Breton countryside easily enough. Not overtly touristic, but there are plenty of nice places around to visit and cycle to. A walk down to Le Legue through the Parc de la Vallée de Gouédic was a lovely start to the day. My visit to St Brieuc was to attend a football tournament in Ploufragen. Having visited prior to covid I was aware of the town hence return visit. As a non driver I am happy to walk into old town and down to harbour. Nice caring personnel also during breakfast which was authentic French with good coffee. Surprisingly well equipped rooms with very large bathroom and comfortable beds. Close to the hotel is nice small Kebab place (4 Rue des 3 Frères le Goff) where we spent excellent time with the owner with Turkish roots but who speaks good German and his proposal to us was "You only pay if you liked the food!"
