Lovely spacious apartment with nice courtyard outside. Clean and tidy and easy to access. We are cycling so appreciated being able to use the washing machine. Relatively close to chateaux Chambord (cycle or drive). This was a great place to stay.

A lovely spot to stay to explore the Loire. We were only there for one night, but went for a walk around Chambord chateau. We were met at the house by Maxime’s sister, Alexandre, who was very friendly and cheerful, and met us as soon as we arrived, no waiting around. We were able to park our car right outside the door, very convenient. The house is decorated in a fun and quirky way, very creative. We had booked for us plus another couple and their 10 year old son, as a crossover point in our respective voyages, then one of them tested positive for covid so they drove on through the night to get home. So a three bedroom house… but we only used the one bedroom and the lower floor. The photos are accurate for the house, but it is difficult to understand the layout from the website. I will explain so as to help other travellers. Downstairs you enter into the lounge, which runs into the kitchen/dining area, and off this is one bedroom and a separate toilet. In the bedroom is the shower and sink, a bit odd but it was all fine. In the lounge is a TV and games inside an old wardrobe. The wooden stairs go up from the lounge onto a landing and small lounge area. Off this area are two more bedrooms, a large bathroom and a separate toilet. So it would work well for a family, or two or three couples. Too big for just the two of us, so if we return we would take one of the smaller places. Be aware before booking that you will need your own towels and sheets, or pay extra. Fortunately we these with us, but it may not suit everyone. Also you must clean the house at the end of your stay, or pay extra.

We had an amazing stay, the service was fantastic and team really looked after us. Welcome drink upon arrival and brilliant spa facilities. The room was great and room service was quick. We opted for breakfast in the room and it was delicious. The attention to detail was spot on.

    We loved the the proximity to Chambord, Cheverny and Blois.

    We loved the the proximity to Chambord, Cheverny and Blois. It was a little further to reach Amboise, but the quiet location in Saint-Claude-de-Diray was well worth the travel time for one day of our stay. You definitely need a car to reach the surrounding areas. Both Cheverny and Chambord had great options for children in the school holidays.

    We rented bikes in nearby Blois at Randovelo and rode to Chambord. It’s about 40 km. It was a highlight of our trip. I wish we had stayed longer in the area to visit more castles and sightsee more. I would also like to have had time for wine tasting.
