It's simply wonderful. The town is just the right size, not too big yet not too small. All the facilities are within walking distance. There are lots of bars, reataurants and shops, including supermarkets. The beach is great, too. It's not overcrowded. Quite little place.
Quite little place. Lovely people, cute farmers corner in the center of town, fresh fish market at the dock. Lovely restaurants. Prao beach is the best. The price for whole day (lunch, drinks and sun beads) for family of 3 is 200-250 euros. Sainte Maxime, having been there many times, actually puts Sainte Tropez in the shadows (ofcourse you can get Le Bateau Vert to St. Tropez from the port for a daily excursion). The port area and street scene on the main route through are just stunning. The cafes are well serviced and the price is not prohibitive. The atmosphere is that of fun with relaxation and a stress free environment. Busy but does not feel overcrowded. The little white train is a must for history buffs, plus its just an enjoyable way to see around the place. Never visited a bad restaurant yet and would suggest La Maison Bleu, Cafe Maxime, The Peanut Cafe (vegan and vegetarian) but to be fair they are all excellent. Stay at either the Little Prince Hotel or one of the Best Western Premier Montfleuri / Matisse and you will not be disappointed. Fantastic golf club also for those budding Rorys. They can also speak Spanish and were really welcoming, helpful and easy to talk to The hotel has a strategic location, one block away from the city center, from the beach and from the bus stop that takes you everywhere. Great value for money as you can reach Saint Tropez as well from the harbor near the hotel that takes only 15 minutes to cross to the other Coast. The beaches are also nice in Saint Maxime.
