Really friendly staff and excellent dinner. We were cycling with a group of 5 and were very helpful in advising on route planning, food locations etc. great secure location for bikes in the garage. The hotel is a short walking distance into the town square where there are some nice places to eat and drink.

I loved the views from our room. With windows on two sides you could see the main street and over the patio and pool to the hillsides beyond. The staff were very friendly and provided safe storage for our bicycles.

The location was amazing, great place for a quiet, peaceful retreat in the countryside sound of the sheep chickens and even a friendly horse was out of this world. The location was ideal for what we wanted. The kitchen fully stocked with all equipment you requird wood on̈ demand for the fire to keep you warm in the lounge. Piping hot showers. And to top it all owners who are so friendly it felt as though we visited family we will be back again. Local town with all you need

What I do love in trips is communicating with people. And I enjoyed it so much while chatting with guys. They invested a lot of time and love in their home and it was a truly comfortable stay. Breakfasts let me feel full during all day:) The place is perfect spot to explore Normandy.

Self catering, chalet in very good order with a perfect outlook over lac de dathee. Nadine our host lovely lady the owner or the chalet takes pride in cleanliness and very well equipped including games for all generations. The swimming pool is a big plus especially being heated and partially covered, there is crazy golf,table tennis and a boules pitch .A perfect place to relax and enjoy scenery.

    Vire is surprisingly beautiful little town.

    Vire is surprisingly beautiful little town. It is rather busy for 17.5k population. Lovely walks, Theatre, water centre. Very happy me. I mean if you get it on your way - it will surprise you in a good way. For dinner 100% go to Hotel de France - you get a high end experience for the local prices and nice quite atmosphere.

    Vire is a town that goes about its business and does not...

    Vire is a town that goes about its business and does not really see itself as a tourist hub. They do have a friendly tourist office but there is not a lot they can promote. We walked round the town and admired the floral decorations and the bits of the old walls that still exist. The museum was shut. There are several good restaurants and in the vicinity there are some lovely small towns and the Lac de la Dathée which is a 6.1km walk round which we enjoyed. We drove to Chateau de Pontécoulant which was advertised as being open but when we arrived at 11 am there was a notice saying the next tour was 14:30 and so we walked in the grounds, most of which were fenced off!

    Location was on the outskirts of Vire, but we were in the centre of Vire in less than five minutes to choose from several restaurants. The B&B was scrupulously clean as was the rest of the house. Breakfast in the morning was superb. Both my wife and I fully enjoyed our stay and would like to thank Viv and Clive for a lovely, enjoyable stay.
