Acton Turville is an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds, particularly the southern end. It's only a 30 minute trip to Bath and an easy drive to the likes of Broadway, Stow-on-the- Wold etc. Castle Combe, the village of Laycock and Dyrham House are all very local and very worth visiting!
