Perfect sized town for having adequate facilities but without the crowds of Windemere. Well located for Windermere and lots of other destinations...
Well located for Windermere and lots of other destinations because of the good bus routes. It was very clean and the restaurants were very good. Ambleside had plenty going on and it was easy to walk to Lake Windermere and the local park had tennis courts and crazy golf. Loved Ambleside
Loved Ambleside Walk down to Ambleside pier and get the ferry over to Bowness Bus 555 cost 12 pound and you can hop on and off all day We went to Grasmere and to Keswick, both !lovely places Loads of bars and eating placesGuest review byDeniseUnited Kingdom

Such a beautiful hotel, fantastic location, close to many great bars, restaurants and cafes. Plenty of onsite parking. Staff were all very friendly. We received a complimentary upgrade on our standard room to a suite, we stayed in Olive Mews 2 - it definitely had the wow factor! Huge room with lovely lounge seating area, super kingsize bed and a fantastic bathroom with 2 person jacuzzi/spa bath, steam room and sauna!!
