Beautiful cabin, so clean and just lovely. The views are gorgeous, and the goats grazing in the field and all the surroundings and birds singing made you feel more like you were in with nature. The cabin is under the trees, keeps it cooler in the hot days. Theres a log burner and even hot water bottles.for the cooler times. The cabin is bueatufully done inside and the attention to detail is amazing. The host was lovely and helpful. And the little extra details were amazing too. The home made brownies were a lovely little touch. We will be back many times. Perfect.spot for the south england showground too. Sat Nat shows opposite side of the road but the host guided me perfectly. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

While the hotel looks very pretty and is in a good location,...

While the hotel looks very pretty and is in a good location, we were disappointed by the poor facilities ergo the electricity went off in our room and we couldn't shower use the shower! We were offered another room to shower one morning before the other guests arrived but after that the hotel was full and on the Monday we were leaving, were offered a room as a guest left early but turned it down because we'd had enough and just wanted to get home. In addition, there was no offer of a reduction for our stay in a room without its own shower working which was very disappointing. As someone who is familiar with the hotel business, I would have thought a reduction in our room rate would have been more forthcoming. The manager tried her best to rectify the faulty electrics etc by calling someone but I'm guessing this may have been an expensive outlay given it was a Bank Holiday or they were unavailable. It seems to me that the owners of the hotel are severely cost cutting with lack of staff, low standard breakfast options and shoddy facilities. The staff seemed to be trying their best in an impossible situation. It was not their fault things didn't work or the facilities weren't up to scratch for the price of the room. I would not recommend staying at The Ardingly.

A good friend of mine celebrates all 5 years his birthday in Lindfield and we stayed over the weekend at Chestnut Tree Cottage. In middle of July at South England Showground is a fantastic Motorcycle Show with lots of oldtimer. Wakehurst is biggest seed collection in the world and a wonderfull place to visit. And the reservoire is always worth a hike.

It was clean, bedroom was equipped with a comfortable bed and very good quality bed linen. The location was perfect for us, very quiet in the night and plenty of fresh air from open windows. Breakfast was well organised and the staff accommodating.
