A very scenic town centre.
A very scenic town centre. A good supermarket and several specialist shops (bookshop especially) . just try and avoid the sweetshop (far too tempting) Several nice restaurants and an excellent fish and chip shop. Ballater is a lovely village.
Ballater is a lovely village. Very clean and tidy as you would expect being so close to Balmoral Castle. Beautiful hanging baskets outside the shops Plenty of cafes and gift shops. Lovely village green around the Church in the centre of Ballater with seating areas . Free car park and free parking around the Church. Lovely village to visit or stay. It has been the most wonderful and comfortable place we have stayed in on our trip we had been away for 4 weeks and this place by far the very best. Homemade cakes and a great breakfast. Great little town on the eastern edge of the Cairngorms.
