A beautiful setting with the river running past.
A beautiful setting with the river running past. However our room facing the entrance and carpark made it very difficult to relax.Guests gather at the entrance and late at night it is very difficult to sleep. The staff were wonderful and helped us find alternative accommodation in the town . It is a shame we were not told about a wedding party so we could have made a choice whether to stay rather than listen to the celebrations which we fully understand would always be noisy.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10

Loved the quaint shops and country town feel of the place. Knowledgeable staff in the WH Smiths newsagents and lovely lunch at the pancake place and craft shop. Park was a beautiful place to visit and there was a well used Turkish/pizza establishment opposite the road near the car park which we enjoyed eating at. If you want something cooked then there are options in the town. The rooms are clean and tidy but fairly basic. It is a good place to stay if what you need is a room without lots of extras - in my case I was visiting relations. It is a 'local' for many with a good bar and sport TV. Beautiful room (Deluxe King) with a very comfortable four poster bed, lovely view and an enormous and extremely clean bathroom. Every member of staff we encountered was so friendly and the meals in the restaurant (both breakfast and dinner) were excellent, always piping hot and with plenty of choice.
