We were pleasantly surprised, Traditional high street!! Full of shops, places to eat and drink. It's even got pie mash liquer shop!! buses, and train station within short walking distance. it is centrally located. You have to bring your own bath soap, shampoo, and hair conditioner as not enough is supplied. No fridge in the room. Very basic. We loved everything and would stay again. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were excellent, and nothing was too much trouble. The food for the party was lovely, tasty and just right. Located close to Stansted Airport (but far enough away the planes don't bother you) it's ideal for a short stay whether catching a flight or exploring the local area. The accommodation itself is worthy of a 5 Star rating, it's like walking into a top class hotel room. Paul the host greets you on arrival and has refreshments waiting inside, a lovely gesture after a long journey. The annexe is warm and comfortable, wifi is great and there's an amazing TV. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and service was excellent. The hotel hosts a number of interesting activities. Whilst we stayed there was an outdoor cinema. Unfortunately the weather was bad so we didn’t make the most of that but, had it been a warm evening, it would have been lovely. The bar and restaurant are both great too.
