Perfect location and a great seaside town hotel, perfectly located for the Opera House / Winter Gardens, and many bars & restaurants. A two minute walk to the beach and pier. Lovely greeting from Robert, who also cooked us a great breakfast! Spotlessly clean. Parking on the road to the side of the hotel, or secure parking for a small charge a few yards away. We were called the day before by Carol, the owner, asking if we would like to check in early. Overall, extremely helpful and accomodating.

FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favored vaction spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognizable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modeled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular bachelor and bachelorette destination, Blackpool has accommodations ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

It's debatable whether Blackpool is for you.

It's debatable whether Blackpool is for you. We went to see the illuminations & drove the full length in the evening * enjoyed them. There's lots of rundown properties & it's now a drinkers weekend. Plenty Fish & Chip shops for cheap grub & can recommend Coral Island amusements for sit in food.Blackpool amusements was also was also popular with us for disabled toilet access & the cafe on 1st floor serves nice food. Unfortunately we had torrential rain on the 1st day so got soaked. We woke on 2nd day to sunshine & blue skies but a chilly breeze off the seafront. Plenty Hotels/B&Bs we stayed up North side which wasn't too far from Tower. Regular buses run & trams seem to be very frequent too. You have to go at least once to Blackpool & judge for yourself. I hope this helps 👍

Despite the torrential rain on the first day of my stay I had a great visit calling in at the Winter Gardens for something to eat and later a drink in the bar, The staff were so friendly and obviously proud of working in such a beautiful building. I went on a tram ride all the way to Fleetwood and back. The conductors on the trams were friendly, helpful and witty! I had fish and chips at The Cottage chippy in the Marton area of Blackpool. Great food and great value for money. Highly recommended. The sun was shining the following day when I had to leave. I left with a smile on my face and will look forward to visiting Blackpool again.

Feels a bit odd, as if its annexed from the rest of the country and gone off on its own little target. Quirky place, a lot of random people. Always worth the trip for the pleasure beach if you like that sort of thing. The seafront has 3 Wetherspoons, I guess that tells you all you need to know...

I'm always surprised at the reaction to my saying we stay in Blackpool. I don't think that the British really know what it is like there now. So much has been raised and rebuilt and so much more is being replaced. Gone is the police building, Topping St. has been replaced, the new government building is complete and they have started to bring down the housing behind Sainburys for the new university. Even the Washington Pub is getting a face lift. There is so much to do here.

for the money, it's excellent. you can easily pay £100 a night for a very basic hotel room these days- and the Coco Beach, watched over by its proprietor Jay, offers "cheap and cheerful" traditional Blackpool seaside lodgings at their classic best. Don't: expect a private jacuzzi in your room. Do: enjoy a "best of British" seaside getaway without breaking the bank.
