We have not been to Bourton on the water for a few years.

We have not been to Bourton on the water for a few years. So it was nice to go back for a short trip nothing has really changed there perhaps some of the shops have changed. But basically everything is there that you could need.

Very picturesque, with plenty to see and do.

Very picturesque, with plenty to see and do. Would recommend Smiths Burgers and the Dragonfly Maze. Easy to walk round and near to other places, such as Stow-on-the-Wold if you wanted to go further afield. Would have liked to have seen the Model Village but you couldn't take dogs in. Got a bit too busy for us in the afternoons but we still had a good time.

Very busy, but well worth the effort.

Very busy, but well worth the effort. So much to see and do not only in Bourton but also the surrounding countryside. There are ample venues for food and drink, shopping is on another level. Model village, car museum, bird park are must dos. Upper and Lower Slaughter are just unmissable places to visit (get there before 10:30 am as parking is scarce. The Old new inn, does a great Sunday roast and Mrs Rolts and the Croft for breakfast and lunch.

Bourton is a beautiful place, although suffers as a result as it's very busy. There are some good food and drink options, although the majority of shops seem to offer the same tourist-trap tat. Come in the off-season.

Bourton on the Water is one of the prettiest little places we’ve visited. The village is clean. The buildings are neat. The shops and eateries are interesting. The clear, shallow Windrush stream flowing through it with its lively flock of ducks is captivating and the footbridges across the stream and paths beside it make the whole experience of the village very special.

We had the perfect few days in Bourton on the Water and the Cotswolds thanks to our stay at Halford House. It couldn't be closer to the centre of the village but as soon as you walk through the gate into the walled garden, you enter a relaxed setting and beautiful accommodation. The owner, Donna, was there to greet us on arrival and made us feel immediately welcome and at home. Parking is free on-site, which is a big bonus, as in peak season parking in the village is tricky. Highly recommended.

Chester House is a very good Cotswolds style hotel in Bourton on the Water. Its location is close to the river near the centre of town. Everything is an easy walk from the hotel. Our room was clean and well presented. We enjoyed our meal at the in house Italian Resturant and also had drinks in the well maintained garden area at the back of the hotel. On site car parking is also a bonus.

Very charming inn in an equally charming cotswolds village. Very quiet apart from plenty of birds singing and not as touristy as some other places. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Best part was probably the beautiful food (cooked breakfast and dining). Lovely garden at the back and very dog friendly.
