Bovey Tracey is easy to walk around.

Bovey Tracey is easy to walk around. A 'must see' is the beautiful park area where there is an abundance of huge trees, a great children's area, and easy walking. Continue through the park and you'll come to the Forest where you can enjoy perfect walks, with a welcoming cafe part way! Another 'must visit' is to a building called 'Jollys'. This is en route to the Heritage Centre (another place worthy of a visit). The gentleman who owns Jollys, is a motorcycle collector. He has a large collection of bikes, including several custom built ones, found on the ground floor. It is definitely worth spending time studying them as the art work is quite outstanding. Carry on upstairs and you'll be astounded at the full sized models of anything and everything! Bovey Tracy has something for everyone! Hope you enjoy your visit.

There are some beautiful walks. Across the road (B3387) from the National Park Visitors Centre, Haytor, is the start of a fantastic walk across the moors. It encompasses Haytor Rocks, a clapper bridge across a stream, several historic points of interest, as well as returning through acres of blue bells (spectacular in May). Below The Rock Inn is a beautiful short walk down a glen. through massive trees, beside a stream.

Lovely gardens, dog friendly, left a treat in a bowl for our pooch. Kitchen was more an adequate, ideal for 2 people, large shower, close to Hytor walks and not far from a local store/petrol station if you wanted supplies. Only negative was the mattress not very comfy.

The location was perfect with easy access to the moors and Tors. There was plenty of storage space to keep clothes etc. The kitchen was superb and well appointed with plenty of pans for cooking and crockery. The bedrooms were a bit dark because of foliage growing across the windows.Would have liked a shelf to keep toiletries in the bathroom.Perhaps a bbq would have been good to have in the garden.

A quiet village off the beaten track but only a short distance from the trunk road (A38) through South Devon. We dined in the Hotel. Superb walking on Dartmoor : the big Hay Tor granite outcrop is only 40 minutes on foot uphill from our quarters in the Rock Inn, or ten minutes drive plus 30 minutes walk if you are starting from the village.

    Small village with few shops.

Small village with few shops. The Indian restaurant was very good. Accessible to lovely countryside walks from the village. National Trust Parke on the edge of the village follows the river with plenty of walks. Situated on the outskirts of Dartmoor which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of Tors to hike.

The location is excellent, on a street that rises steeply out of the centre of Bovey Tracey, itself a good base for exploring eastern Dartmoor and nearby coastal areas. The front of the house has an elevated positions, with views over the Bovey valley towards the moorland. The house is small but quite well equipped, with all the household items needed for a holiday stay. And parking is easy enough - unrestricted in the street immediately in front of the cottage. Plenty of hot water and a good shower in the upstairs bathroom.

Such a brilliant holiday! The set up at Dartmoor Reach is amazing. Such a lovely place to hang out with the family, the alpacas and all the other animals. The bus is pretty spacious and works really well. We took our toddler and baby and fit travel 2 cots in fine. Location wise, it was really easy to get into Dartmoor with Haytor rocks really close plus lovely Bovey Tracey and pretty easy to get to the coast. There is so much to do in the area.

The overall building (which is predominantly the new owner’s personal home rather than a hotel) is a beautiful building. It’s very close to amazing walks/rides (and the Parke Parkrun!) and within a few minutes drive/15 minutes walk of Bovey Tracey with good cafes/bakeries and small shops.

had just played golf at Bovey castle. Left there due to formal stuffy expensive environment. Arrived at the Dolphin to be met by friendly helpful attentive staff. family run hotel with everyone singing from the same hymn sheet. They deserve to do well.

Large room, hot water, free on site parking. Excellent central location in Bovey Tracey. Recommend woodland walk in Parke (1/4m up the river) or family cycle ride along the old Wray valley line to Moretonhampstead (7m one way).
