    Beautiful area.

Beautiful area. Sadly it rained for the first 2 days, but didn't detract from the beauty of the area. Great selection of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and a fantastic sunday dinner at the Albert.

We enjoyed walking around the town, despite the rain.

We enjoyed walking around the town, despite the rain. Car parking was expensive and it was busy, despite being term time. We had a delicious breakfast at a cafe over a bakery. We loved sitting at the lakeside watching the boats.

Bowness is a fabulous base to sightseeing from.

Bowness is a fabulous base to sightseeing from. It's a lovely little area of the Lake District. Very busy at times and too much traffic and not enough parking spaces. Best to get there early if you need to park. Lots of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. Sunday market. Lots to see and do.

This is the third time I have been back to Bowness this year. I love the art shops, the clothes shops and most importantly the home made fudge. So relaxing watching the boats on the lake and geting the ferry to the other side to walk up to Hill Top. It was a struggle to get my grandaughter away from the Beatrix Potter museum.

Bowness is good place to take a short break.

Bowness is good place to take a short break. The ferry trip to Lakeside and the short train ride was most enjoyable and very good value. The first two days were warm and sunny, but inevitably it poured down on the last day. Bowness was busy and eating out is expensive. Cafe '4' provides the best and least expensive meals in Bowness.

Our Hotel was Burn How within 5 minutes walking distance of the cruise ships. We took 2 trips on separate days, one to Ambleside to the north of Lake Windermere and the other longer trip south to Lakeside. There one could visit an aquarium and take a 15 minute steam train ride returning to Bowness on a later cruise ship. The only disappointment was that most eating places close at 5pm so the choice is therefore limited unless of course you have oodles of cash.

Hot tub on balcony was fantastic. Room was fine, but the bed seemed a bit hard for the pair of us. Breakfast provided excellent choice. The spa facilities were just amazing and the lighting was beautiful in the spa. The pub, terrace bar and Mizumi restaurant were absolutely first class. We would also like to congratulate you on the awesome staff - whatever training has been provided to them is an asset to your hotel. They went above and beyond to provide a wonderful service, ambience and the odd joke or too! Absolutely amazing.

This is an exceptional bed and breakfast hotel in the heart of Bowness. Close to all the pubs, restaurants, shops and the lakeside, though up a short steep hill!! The bedroom (room 4) was very spacious and clean with a superb bath and shower. Nick the host also provides a few welcome added touches such as homemade cakes, bottles of water and fresh milk. There was a choice of cooked full English or Vegetarian breakfasts, plus bread, cereals and yoghurts.

Parking at the rear, with Comfortable rooms, with everything you need, including an awesome shower! Simon and Joan were the perfect hosts - helpful and knowledgable. Plus, their cooked breakfasts are gorgeous.
