Towels old, grey and thin. Room NOT serviced. Got fresh towels from Reception. Bathroom had no sink plug which made wet shaving by my husband difficult to do. Shower floor very slippy when shower was in use - no bath mat, no hand grip. No bath mat for outside of shower. No soap in shower dispenser. Poor lighting, room very dark. No spare pillows We paid for bed & breakfast a dreceived a cardboard box containing cornflakes, UHT milk carton, an oat biscuit, pan au chocolates, tiny bottle of water, spoon and tissue. I am diabetic - totally unsuitable and would not have taken booking had we known. Room was clean but very strong breath taking smell of bleach which lingered for hours. Bed linen satisfactory. . Nice to see new businesses in the town centre - craft pub...
Nice to see new businesses in the town centre - craft pub reached by pedestrian bridge was good. The only issue came from having one of our group on crutches after an accident. It was a struggle to find somewhere a car could drop off near a venue in the centre due to pedestrianisation. We didn’t really get much time to explore, Bridgend is like most market towns these days, a little run down, you can see how beautiful it much have been in its day, but there are nice restaurants and shops, what little sight seeing we did was nice and I would like to go back with more time! The great house hotel is about a 5 min drive out of Bridgend, sadly we don’t get time to explore there but it does look like a lovely wee village!Guest review bycath - 8.0

Places around Bridgend are stunning: Ogmore, Southerndown and Porthcawl to name but a few. Shopping at Sarn is excellent. Bridgend Town sadly lacks funding but it’s still an ok town for essentials. Newbridge fields are beautiful - lots of sports are played there at weekends too. Not far from Neath falls, there Big Pit, The Mumbles - all worth while places!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Ewenny guest house is not in the town of Bridgend but in Ewenny, surrounded by countryside and woods, on the road to the coast. There are a couple of pubs about 5 minutes drive away for evening meals. It is a five minute drive to Ogmore , which is on the sea and the coastline there is a heritage coastline, with beautiful walks and cliffs and woods. Bridgend is a small town, it has supermarkets, shops and restaurants, but we did not spend time in the town, only in the countryside around.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom

The room was on the 3rd floor over a busy public inn but there was no noise, clean and well appointed. They are literally next door should you need any help or information. The Lodge is small and compact, but has everything you need from a base to explore South Wales. There is a bus stop, and a train station close by, and the M4 is a 5 minute drive away. There is ample parking at the front of the lodge, and a lovely garden area to relax in at the rear. The staff in all ways were friendly and helpful. We came to Bridgend for a family funeral, but the staff at Heronston made us feel welcome and at home.
