I can name several arguments in favour of Ty Castell Guest House : Parking on site. A clean room. Quiet at night. Town center with pubs, restaurants and castle accessible by foot. Full english breakfast. However, what makes the establishment stand out among peers is the sincere hospitality of its owner. I was warmly welcomed by Steve upon arrival. He provided me with good suggestions for dinner. He also took time for conversation, something any lone traveler can appreciate. Steve is the heart and soul of Ty Castell Guest House and he will go out of his way to make your stay pleasant and memorable.

We loved how clean and well-maintained everything was. The hot tub was a real highlight – so relaxing and with beautiful views. The bed was really comfy, and the indoor fireplace made the cabin feel warm and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed, including pots, pans, cutlery, and even tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The honesty shop was a lovely extra touch, and the hot shower was perfect after a day outdoors. Everything felt peaceful and thoughtfully prepared.

    Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to stay for stunning scenery half an hour away in the Brecon Beacons. It's ace is the Caerphilly Castle which is the second largest in the UK and should be on your bucket list.

    We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

    For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring. I would definitely revisit though. Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed. Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours. We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely! Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle. Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly. We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

    Great central location for walking in and around Caerphilly. Spacious light house, well equipped kitchen and great outdoor space with BBQ facilities. David very helpful and responded quickly repairing a small issue with shower. Beds incredibly comfortable. Large Morrisons behind the house (walking distance) perfect for stocking up on essentials. Great few days bringing my elderly father back to reconnect with places and family from his childhood, thank you David 😊

    Turning back into time when I walked through the door. The hotel is a throwback of yester year. It is what it is, a no frills wholesome hotel. the food was good prices according. The room although basic(what I booked) did exactly what it said on the tin. The hotel will not win any awards for it’s beauty but had a certain charm offensive about itself. Would I return? honestly yes. Staff were very nice.

    Easy to park. Handy location for walking to Caerphilly Castle/town centre, and for train into Cardiff. Easy access to woodland walks/Clay Pits and Caerphilly Mountain. Made good use of the rotary washing line.
