Lovely pub at a wonderful location. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Clean room and bathroom. They're currently renovating so everything will be newly updated soon. Great breakfast in the morning!

The room and the pub itself were amazing, and the food was incredible, I recommend the Sea Bass and the Mac and Cheese. The staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Didn't hear too much from downstairs once we went to bed for the evening too.

Amazing location, a little bit unusual breakfast deal, you get the food in the evening and keep it in the fridge. But it was nice. I liked it, the muffin was very good and you can eat in bed.

Everything was amazing and it was such a lovely stay. Efficient communication with Janet. Excellent breakfast. Convenient location. Clean and everything just like home. They pick their eggs from their own chickens and make their own honey from their bee hives. It was a unique experience to stay at a farm for me and loved every bit of it. The whole house is decorated with cute sheep decorations and pictures, even the pepper shakers during breakfast! Janet even offered us some fresh picked eggs to go but we were going on a hike, really love her hospitality!

Excellent location for walking, it is remote however Buxton with all its restaurants and bars is only a 10 min drive.. Breakfast was lovely.. Picturesque filled with nature, animals, hills and flowers..

The place is really cosy and very comfortable. Fantastic bed! Perfect location and really handy having a parking space right in front. Beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The host is also very attentive and friendly. Can’t recommend Foxgloves enough!

    Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.

    The pubs were fine and some decent beer options. On the Sunday night of a Bank Holiday weekend my friends and I went for dinner. Five of the seven pubs/bars were not serving food. One pub was only serving pizza. One restaurant was fully booked. I couldn't believe it. There were a lot of people like us looking for somewhere to eat. Very poor form indeed.

    my only complaint regarding castleton,we couldent belive in the height of summer,the vast majority of the pubs were closing early,two pubs were closeing 8pm,theres only one pub open till 11.30 called the peak hotel,it was a life saver and a nice pub,so bear this in mind,if you like a pint after a days walking

    Hope Cottage is a wonderful place to stay.

    Hope Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. The accommodation has everything and more that you need. The welcome basket in the kitchen was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Onsite parking is a bonus. Cottage is in reach of everything in Castleton.

    Every thing you need on the door step , easy access to many other places. Loads of good pubs and cafes serving an excellent choice. If you want to leave the car behind there is a regular bus service and good destinations

    Castleton is a pretty village set amongst the High Peaks

    Castleton is a pretty village set amongst the High Peaks Lovely little shops and of course the famous caverns and blue John stone The jewellery shops have a range of lovely jewellery and other items made with the blue John incorporated in them Or you can buy crystals ranging from very small to impressive specimens so something to suit all budgets There are lovely walks if you’re into hiking or just potter round the village trying out the different tea shops and restaurants as you go All in all a great place to visit

    Absolutely lovely guy.home from home.right in castleton.fairly easy parking over road.spotlessly clean .lovely view(front room) nice and quiet after the tourists have left castleton at night.would definitely go again.without hesitation. Plenty of pubs around for breakfast and evening meals. Ps great pricing for rooms.

    The food was absolutely amazing - good choices and all cooked fresh. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The hotel was in a great location - right in the heart of Castleton. Good beer and plenty of drinks choices in the bar which had good live entertainment.

    Beautiful old house, a 15 minute walk from the centre of Castleton, nearby all the main walks. Breakfast is really good and generous, plenty of space in the public areas and a nice history of the building nearby the breakfast area. Also good shower.
