We have just returned from a magical 2 night stay at Chillingham East Lodge - it wasn't long enough!! Such a quirky, beautiful, comfortable, peaceful place to stay, and the setting is amazing. Next to an ancient church, at the edge of the castle grounds, with beautiful Northumbrian countryside at our doorstep. My husband and I were visiting from New Zealand with my UK sister and her husband. We enjoyed seeing bats, squirrels and herons, and listening to owls at nightime. We loved the castle and gardens and enjoyed a tasty lunch in the castle cafe in a beautiful medieval setting. Max, our host, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I definitely recommend this charming abode.

It's not a big village, but a very pretty one. and we were only there one night. I would think it would be a good base to explore some of Northumberland and for walkers. We were only there one night as we were heading up to Scotland.

A lovely cottage in a very quiet location but close enough to all of the local attractions. Very comfortable and well appointed. Great walks right from the front door and in an area where the clear night skies are absolutely wondrous.

The village of Chatton is small but perfectly formed. The Percy Arms would be a great place to stay for a few days and explore Northumberland- Bamburgh was 15 miles away and Cragside and Alnwick very close by.

We had a wonderful stay at Chatton. The cottage was just as we expected from the description and did not disapoint. It was spacious inside, immaculately presented and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a fabulous shower. The cottage was perfectly situated for touring Northumberland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Great place to discover the beautiful coastline and surrounding countryside. Alnwick Gardens a treat. Cragside beautiful even in autumn. Bamburgh Castle a favourite with its amazing beach. The smoked haddock chowder in the tiny cafe in Craster was superb. Dunstanburg Castle walk from Craster is a must. Fabulous views and a bracing walk. Ate in the potted lobster as a special treat - pricey but worth it. The little cafe in belford is a must as is fish and chips from the John Dory takeaway! Great value!

Quality throughout. In addition to the listed facilities a dishwasher and washing machine were installed. The on-road parking was not a problem being available right by the front door. The only downside apart from the Percy Arms any other eateries were several miles away .

The property is elegant and spacious. Our room was very well apointed with a super-king-size bed that was very comfortable indeed. Our hosts were very welcoming with a mine of useful local knowledge.
