Tom's table restaurant is amazing. Holmes Mill and Emporiium very good for lunch. Nice variety of shops. Castle and grounds pleasant for a dog walk. Short drive to Hurst Green for 5.5 mile walk on the Tolkein Trail.

Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and picturesque churches with Pendle Hill as it's backdrop. The castle is interesting to explore and set in a lovely park, good for short walks. Great destination for real ale drinkers. Bowland Brewery at Holm Mill has good food (and extensive beer choice) and Ice and Spice was a good venue for cooked breakfast.

Lots of lovely places to visit in and around Clitheroe.

Lots of lovely places to visit in and around Clitheroe. Lovely Mexican/Spanish restaurant called The Wellsprings, Sabden, well worth a visit serving excellent food and a beautiful views across the valley. For a lovely all-day breakfast try the wonderful Hindelinis restaurant and bar on the historic Gisburne Park Estate. If it's a Sunday roast you are after, why not try the fabulous Rhubarb restaurant in the Herriots Hotel in Skipton. We had a nice roast beef dinner in there when we visited. Not far we visited Malham Cove, Janet's Floss waterfall and Gordale Scar - a lovely 4 1/2 mile walk from Malham.

The questions don't reflect the stay, we chose the hotel and the length of stay because we had booked a dinner in a local restaurant. Whalley, not Clitheroe (Geographically error on the B.com website) is a lovely village, generally.

A wonderful pub hotel in the Ribble Valley just outside Clitheroe, in a small village with fantastic views of Pendle Hill and the surrounding area. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming at the bar, reception and in the restaurant. They couldn't do enough for you. The room was amazing with great view over the garden and beyond. The bed was very comfortable and we had a big spa bath too! All the meals were superb with a huge choice on the menu. Will definitely stay here again when we're next in the area.

Everything from start to finish was made exceptional by Lou and her team. The room was luxurious and spacious with amazing views from every window. The service was top notch, we even had a free glass of bubbly for our anniversary. The food was excellent and very tasty. It was not only amazing inside, the grounds outside the hotel are free to explore. We went for a wander and we had seen a stag and a group of about 10 deers. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Staff so very welcoming & accommodating, thank you. Very clean & a great location to explore Clitheroe centre & castle. Coming back after the lounge closes means using the fire escape but it takes you to the ground floor of the hotel side of the property. There are 2 hotel floors.
