We love Darlington. There is much to see around - particularly for railway enthusiasts. The valley of the River Tees is beautiful and offers good walks. But note: the picture you show, which is the River Tees, is about 20 miles from Darlington.

I was pleasantly surprised by the genuine warmth of the Darlington people. The food at local restaurants was very good as was the atmosphere in the local pubs. I was impressed with Darlington's railway heritage and the pride and esteem in which it is held by many of the visitors to the museum.

Darlington has a lot to offer, all be it like many towns it has suffered in recent years from the decline of the high street. That said there has been a lot of investment in the town centre. Darlington is surrounded by some beautiful countryside and coastline, making it an excellent location from which to tour County Durham and North Yorkshire

What I liked most was the atmosphere and the homely feeling.

What I liked most was the atmosphere and the homely feeling. I loved the garden and all the artwork around the house. The bed was supremely comfortable and I had a lovely bath too. The location is excellent for airport and motorway network and the restaurant round the corner was nice. The hosts are very friendly and amenable and the check-in is no fuss. Pauline provides clear instructions and communication is faultless. Felt at home immediately, thank you.

Very welcoming staff, all nice people who put the customer first. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom very clean as well. Every day I was provided with clean towels and the staff made sure the room was clean. The hotel has a nice bar with a cool atmosphere and a pool table. It's very close to the Darlington town centre, and very close to many choices for food and drinks. All in all I loved my stay there, I recommend for anyone spending time in the Darlington area.

The single room with private bathroom is nice, well furnished and has a comfy bed. The shower in the bathroom is amazing. Jamie is a kind host, makes your stay even nicer. It's a great place for people who don't want a luxury stay. Very good value for money in Darlington. The hotel has a very clean kitchen to be used by guests (and free milk as well!!).
