If you have already been to Framlingham then you won’t need...

If you have already been to Framlingham then you won’t need me to tell you how wonderful this Suffolk town is. If you haven’t been: Go! And make sure you book several days if possible as there is so much to see here and in surrounding towns and villages. The town square is a little gem. The unspoiled streets leading off as you climb toward the awe-inspiring castle are a delight. The large church is beautiful. Collage Mere is an extraordinary survival so close to the centre of the town. The views of the castle from here are the very best.

We visited the castle this time and enjoyed walking around it. We had something to eat in the café there as well. We walked from and to our accommodation which was about 25 minutes long. It was a pleasent experience overall.

Framlingham is a pretty little village with a good selection of independent shops, plus a coop for stocking up on things. There are plenty of places for a relaxing coffee and restaurants for some a bit special. The Castle is great and anyone who is a fan of the BBC light drama "the detectorists" will recognise many of the locations in the village used in the filming of this wonderful series. Overall Framlingham is a great place to stay or just to visit for the day.

I may be a bit biased as I’ve known Framlingham for over 20 years many of it inhabitants too along with its lovely pubs and restaurants. It’s a friendly very place with a lot of history, and the Castle is definitely worth a visit, especially for the part it played in the history of England. I would recommend the Station pub - local lad Ed Sheehan’s favourite pub of all time! Framlingham is entirely walkable with some lovely boutique shops. Further afield there’s some very picturesque villages.

Very pretty town, lovely pubs and shops.

Very pretty town, lovely pubs and shops. Great fish and chip shop there. Framlingham Castle is amazing and well worth visiting. We ate at The Crown pub in the square which was a lovely old pub, serving delicious food.

We went to The Crown Hotel which was very nice.

We went to The Crown Hotel which was very nice. Food lovely and not too crowded. We also made a visit to Woodbridge. The quays were interesting but did not like the town. Very difficult to drive round one way system and parking was very difficult. We also went to nearby Aldeburgh. Parking was impossible. The parking app would not download and machine only took cash. So many people ended up walking in the road. Also no where to park. Snape Maltings were brilliant.

Nothing spared! Generous on every level; from kitchen/dining room and bathroom essentials to a big basket of wood and tinder for the fire. Every room felt like a home from home from sumptuous beds, throws and soft cushions to soft lighting - everything from morning, noon and night had been considered and catered for. Welcoming, cosy and perfectly placed to explore Framlingham and beyond. Just wish we could have moved in!

We really enjoyed our stay at Potters Brook in Framlingham. The property was very comfortable and it had everything that we needed for our stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need. The bedroom was lovely with a super comfy bed. The property is in a very quiet location within easy distance of the town. We even had a Christmas tree in the conservatory which was an extra special touch.
