The staff were amazing, as a family with a young child, travelling can be stressful. The staff made every interaction joyful and stress free. The surrounding area is beautiful as well. The food was unreal, every meal we had was absolutely brilliant.

everything the room was large, the bed was comfortable and warm. The hotel is a relaxing & comfortable atmosphere the staff were fantastic. I had a wonderful relaxing stay and can’t wait to go back . the food was excellent & nothing was to much trouble for the staff very accommodating

Welcome pack, lovely 😍 with quality food items, especially the Yorkshire Parkin 😋. Very nice back garden. Well equipped kitchen with lots of teatowels and washing up liquid, etc. Very useful utility room. Spacious rooms. Downstairs and upstairs bathroom with first-rate walk-in shower . Very clean property. Plenty of towels. Children's stairgate came in handy. Nice decor and extremely comfortable 👌.

property was beautiful, very clean and had everything you need for a short break, comfy beds, and the views are spectacular, the host Nicola was great, attentive, helpful and friendly. highly recommend staying here and we will definitely come again 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

    Only stayed one night but it was very quiet and pleasant.The food in the Fair Fax Arms was excellent the steak and ale pie was the best I've ever eaten and the choice of breakfast was just as good.

    Very quiet village but ideal for anyone wanting a relaxed place to stay. Locals were friendly and pub staff lovely and helpful. Short drive to Helmsley and nearby Ampleforth Abbey is well worth a visit.

    A quiet pretty village with a Church and stream running parallel to the Main Street . Conveniently located for visits to Helmsley , Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway , the East Coast or a shopping trip to York Ampleforth College nearby is well worth a visit Includes a tearoom . Mouseman furniture which is made at Kilburn not far away .

    A well kitted out hotel/inn.

    A well kitted out hotel/inn. Very comfortable beds and chairs in both restaurant, bar and beer garden, Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant but the same menu was available throughout the inn. The village is very quiet and clean. More facilities available close by at Oswaldkirk and Helmsley.

    The warm welcome, friendliness and attentiveness of all staff throughout the stay. The food served at breakfast and dinner was high quality, very well presented with lots of choice. There was a problem with the hot water system in part of the Inn, we were moved to a better room in another part of the hotel with different hot water supply. We also received free drinks. The location was excellent in lovely rural surroundings, very quiet at night.

    Very nice country pub / hotel in a lovely village. Staff were friendly, the room was very comfortable and they offer a good menu of pub food. The bar was well stocked with real ales and was clearly used by locals giving it a friendly atmosphere. Excellent breakfast in the light and airy Orangery. There is a car park at the rear of the hotel so parking is easy. Definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

    The staff were lovely, very welcoming. The atmosphere in the bar, restaurant and outside seating was very relaxing. The pub is a lovely building and the conservatory is exceptional, real quality. The evening meal was exceptional, the food was delicious and head and shoulders above a top hotel in Harrogate ( previous stay).

    Lovely hotel. Good attentive staff, nice ambiance, great room. Quiet location in a pretty village. Lots of walking options. Ten minutes in the car to Helmsley. Dinner was excellent. Nice little touches like Chocolates in the room. Will definitely return.
