FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-loving & Forward-thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centers cover everything from name brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you've left enough space in your bags!

Glasgow is brilliant - there is so much to see and do.

Glasgow is brilliant - there is so much to see and do. Its not a "touristy" city in that it doesnt have a well defined tourist zone, its a fully functioning working city. Having said that, it has brilliant museums, restaurants and shops. Some seriously urban areas, then a few minutes away, great parks. You might need to plan a little more than other places, but its well worth it. The West End (Byres Road), Kelvingrove, Glasgow green, and the centre are all brilliant. Ardnamurchan was a great place to et, but there are many others

I visit Glasgow regularly as there's always things to do and see. Personally, I use the train a lot and find that I can quickly get out into the beautiful Scottish countryside easily and quickly. Glasgow spoils you for choice in terms of places to eat and drink. Whether it's typical pub food (with or without haggis) or Italian, Japanese, Korean, Indian, you'll definitely find a good quality and reasonably priced place to eat and drink. Check out the art galleries, museums and cultural hotspots and you won't be disappointed, even if the grey weather can make things look a bit tired. You never know, you might get some sunshine!

I love visiting Glasgow but lots of public works happening at the moment so was a little disjointed. Kelvingrove Museum and Gallery is one of the best days out and free. City Chambers a standout to visit. Glasgow is an easy city to negotiate.

Glasgow is possibly the most under rated city we have ever explored, it as a fabulous place. The architecture is sensational, loads of wonderful vibrant pubs and resturants, easily walkable with great transport links but the absolute crowning jewel are the people of Glasgow, so welcoming and friendly. We are already looking forward to returning as we feel we have only just scratched the surface. Absolutely love this city.

Glasgow has become a dump over the past 10 years, like many UK cities. It's run down and known as the drug deaths capital of Europe. The city centre is relatively safe, just very dirty and beggars everywhere. There are many restaurants and pubs with decent food at affordable prices. I visit Glasgow for work only.

Very impressed by estef Great location and clean room for a good price. Double room , if youre just there for sleep and shower for the one night it’s fine. Shower/toilet useable. Very clean. Free Wifi. Helpful and pleasant estef check in and out. Very Close to Glasgow city centre. Under £50per double room per night (no breakfast) so good value for a Glasgow hotel in a good location, Would 100% use again. Once again big thanks to estef . First time staying at this hotel in Glasgow city centre. It's ideally located for shops, restaurants and pubs. Very friendly and helpful staff on Reception during check-in and check-out. The room was compact and comfortable with a quirky Glasgow traffic cone related theme. Decent shower in the bathroom too. This was a room only booking so I can't comment on the quality of the breakfast on offer to guests staying at this Ibis Styles hotel.

Very-very good value for money. Glasgow will not be our favourite destination, but we would return anytime to this hotel.
