I was there to photograph all aspects of Grimsby and Cleethorpes, and they are full of possibilities. It's not a place full of 'postcard' shots, but if you want to know about the history of a flourishing coastal town, the Fishing Heritage museum by the docks is fascinating. It's got a decent shopping centre, the football club offers good League Two football and the people in general are very down to earth and friendly. For photographers who want to meet like-minded people, Cleethorpes Camera Club meets at least three times a week, and Grimsby Photographic Society meets on Thursdays. Cleethorpes beach and pier are well worth a look.

I go for friends, but the people of Grimsby are very friendly, and helpful. Like most cities they must have problems, but the people are kind and upbeat. Some great parks, the Peoples Park is a great place to walk you dog.

Great location for Grimsby town and train station.

Great location for Grimsby town and train station. Indian restaurant across the street is amazing. Onsite parking is quite expensive for the area. Floors are all weirdly creeky, which may not be ideal if you like coming in late, want it super quiet or have dogs that react to strange noises.

There are amazing places to stay around Grimsby, in the countryside you can find gourmet food and places that have wild outdoor pools and spa. I go there to take out my elderly mother and we have lovely days out. Laceby and Stallinborough have some fab small boutique places to stay. As a family we enjoy walking along Cleethorpes promenade and having fish and chips from The Pier then walking down to the boating lake. There are lovely cafes on St Peter's Ave where we have lunch or tea and cake and it's a friendly town, where people have time to stop for a chat about life. There is a cinema complex in Cleethorpes were tickets are really good value and there's plenty of fun indoor places for kids and a pool in Grimsby and in Cleethorpes. We always enjoy our family trips and there are many B&B's in both towns and villages.

Grimsby and Cleethorpes are a post industrial collection of towns and villages blessed with many nice features. Clearly there is post industrial decay, but they are so many good points to outweigh that. Beautiful parks and surrounding countryside, interesting independent shops and some great eateries - the best fish and chips you'll ever taste. Seaside, countryside and the ability to move and breathe. Some fabulous housing stock, most of which is affordable! Some great history, with a charter dating back to the 13th Century.

We stayed in 3 different hotels whilst visiting the UK. Our stay at the Holiday Inn was longer than our other 2 stays combined. Holiday Inn was the cleanest with the friendliest staff and the best organized regarding breakfast. The location to grimsby down town centre was perfect and the rooms were quiet other than the squeaky floors but no external noises. The breakfasts were tasty and fresh with a good variety of options. I will stay there on my next visit

In a way, it was like stepping back into a timewarp, and you could tell that the hotel had been cutting edge in terms of amenities and comfort in the 1970's. That said, in the 2020's it represents good value for money, in a central location and a with comfortable night's stay. The breakfast was excellent: the choice and ambiance was a step up from a Travelodge and more like the 4 star hotel we had stayed at in Vienna a couple of weeks before.

Staff were mostly friendly, Josh was an absolute star, he was courteous, polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Loads to do and see in Grimsby, especially for history buffs. Rooms were bright, roomy and clean. Plenty of refreshments in the room. We stayed an extra night, it was better than some 5 star hotels we've stayed in.

The hotel was unappealing from the outside, but clean & comfortable once you were inside. The staff seemed a little 'over friendly' with some comments, but nothing to be concerned about. If we were to return to the area we would stay here again.

Clean and functional, which is a lot of what I ask for in a hotel. Just out of the town centre, which is good, but still walkable.
