    Halstead is a pretty market town with some unusual shops as...

    Halstead is a pretty market town with some unusual shops as well as various supermarkets. It is well within reach of some lovely villages close by. There are plenty of places to eat or have a coffee. We walked around Halstead as we were able to leave our car in the hotel carpark all day. We are NOT a young couple (late 70s) but there were plenty of places to go for a drink. I wouldn't say there was a wild night life but for a very pleasant and restful weekend, it is perfect.

    Full of c head's and mad people,, again this was said before.. not safe to go around at 🌃 on your own,, dealers everywhere,, I went for a walk once and heard children screaming,, I do wonder whether they were ok ..

    A quaint, sleepy market town, steeped in history, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Reminds me of Appleby. Lots of independent shops and eateries, including a 'cat cafe' and a 'book cafe'.

    There's plenty of places to eat,, boutiques,, walks& they have a 🐈 cafe!! I wouldn't recommend walking around alone at night,, I did notice someone who had been drinking the early hrs of the am,, I wouldn't recommend doing any country walks on your own,, there are drug dealers& smack heads around,, it's a earie place& 1 1/2 on publice transport..

    A pleasant Essex small town, but the high street is on a hill. It has a range of small, interesting shops and a good supermarket. There is an assortment of eating places. We ate at The Bull at the bottom of the hill. The food was fine but the service was very slow.

    I found the staff at this pub/hotel very friendly and helpful. There was no problem when I asked to change rooms. The room I was initially allocated was dark, gloomy and very noisy. I was given a room away from the pub which was better. I do feel the place could do with an update however bed was comfortable and despite it being freezing outside the room was nice and warm. I would stay here again.
