I saw the reviews and some were ok and some positive.

I saw the reviews and some were ok and some positive. I think reviews you need to take with a pinch of salt but I wish I had used a premier inn. The room was ok it was clean and well spaced. However the rest of the house was very shabby. The shared bathroom was falling apart no screen on the shower just a curtain that was too short. The garden which was the main attraction from the pictures as horrendous. It was not maintained not that I wanted to but all the barbque facilities were filthy and the garden looked derilict! The pool which the kids were realy excited about was filthy and freezing cold with broken chairs and even empty bottles of wine around it. The cleaner met me and she was lovely and very helpful but didn’t know any details just where the room was and anything else was unknown. Not her fault she was lovely but a proper check I. Would have been useful. There was no where to get hot water for tea no milk for breakfast all In all I would not go back.

2 bookings 8th and 23rd November, on arrival 8th, building in darkness except for one small light, rang the bell after several minutes a young woman came to the door and showed us to a family room with no private bathroom even thought we had booked en- suit. Too tired to argue after a long stressful day of travel so just accepted it, shared bathroom down the hall. Slept a few hours and had an early flight, temperature in the room at 05,00am 14 degrees c, went to bathroom for a shower 11 degrees c, skip the shower. We had planned to stay here again on our return journey and everything was paid in advance but because of this experience we decided not to and tried to cancel but they have a 30 none refundable policy so ended up paying for a superb 4x hotel which only costs about £20 more than Hazelwick but was in an all together other class. So an expensive night on our return, I had asked Booking.com to help with this situation as I've been a regular client of theirs for around 30 years, all they could offer was to write to Hazelwick asking if they would waive their none refund clause, I expected a better respons from them, hense I will no longer be using Booking.coms services for future trips

Booking.com advised me to contact the host after our awful mis-sold stay with Joanne about possible reimbursement. She said she "would consider reimbursement, if I hadn't posted a review" then when she found out I had already done a review called me "manipulative and unkind" and blocked me from every platform

This has to be the most terrible experience I've had via booking.com. Upon arrival we were astonished at the number of parked cars at the property some of which were blocking others in and it looked chaotic. A handwritten note on the door instructed us to call a phone number if the doorbell wasn't answered. We did this but got no reply and the phone mailbox was full. We then sent a text. Still no reply. A man pulled up in a car, said he didn't live there and suggested we go to the back garden to look for her. He said she had two staff off with Covid and was cleaning rooms. She appeared in the garden and chastised me rudely for being in her garden demanding to know who I was. I told her we had a reservation. She did not confirm this. Told me to go back to the front door which I did. She then proceeded to argue that we hadn't been calling her phone and could not have been waiting as long as we had been. We kept trying to diffuse her confrontational approach by bringing her back to the fact that we had a reservation so could we sign in. She did not acknowledge the booking at all. She wanted to argue and take issue with every comment we made. When I expressed concern at the number of cars in the car park she became very defensive claiming that it was her property and she could do what she liked with it. She then refused to honour our booking and when we said but you have taken our money so we need a refund she stormed off telling us to take it up with booking.com. Leaving us stranded. All I can do is to warn everyone not to make a booking. Very disturbing experience. I now have to try to get my money back somehow.

Owner is clearly not right in the head.

Owner is clearly not right in the head. Tipped pure household bleach into hot tub and swimming pool which were frothing from the bleach. Dog excrement was around lawn area from owners own dog and was there the whole time we were staying there!! Police called and arrived numerous times over our 3 night stay due to unruly occupants who were threatening other occupiers and owner was oblivious to it all as off her head on drugs and alcohol. Numerous times woken at early hours of morning by other residents. Was told it was a "one off" but apparently not the case as this went on for whole 3 nights!!! We were just too tired to leave plus had already booked to go sightseeing in London on the Sunday and no doubt everywhere booked up asa Bank Holiday so no choice but to stay or loose more money from leaving. Police in end on early hours Bank Holiday Monday gave owner a caution for breach of the peace and would be arrested if she continued! Says another about the place if that's the owner getting that! Avoid this place at all costs what seems nice at first isn't always as it makes out!!!
