Heathrow, a Heath and Stately Homes

Set in the nearest London Borough to Heathrow Airport, Hounslow hotels and guest houses on Booking.com are understandably a popular choice for those flying in and out of the UK’s busiest airport. However, there are more reasons to stay here than just this.

Hounslow Heath has a nature reserve and golf course, and to the north in the Osterley suburb is the National Trust-operated Osterley Park with its stately home and gardens. South-east of here is Syon House, while Hanworth Park House is in the Feltham district, home to just some of the hotels near Heathrow Terminal 4. Also close by is the wildlife haven that is Bedfont Lakes Country Park.

There are also 2 smaller parks in the Cranford district, near the Bath Road which passes the road leading to Heathrow Terminals 1-3. Most hotels near Heathrow on this road are served by an airport shuttle which offers transfers to all 5 terminals. Located at the opposite end of the airport to Hounslow, Terminal 5 is the newest and most state of the art, and has its own station on the London Underground.

All Heathrow Airport stations are on the Piccadilly Line and offer fast connections to the 3 Tube stations in Hounslow itself, and beyond to central London.

    We stayed in Hounslow area for one primary reason, our hotel was close to the Hounslow Central Tube Station which was close to Heathrow airport for our departing flight and we could take a short tube ride to The Kew Gardens the day before we left. The area of Hounslow Central has a significant immigrate population. It was quiet and safe enough but was different than much of England.

    Location for LHR was great, accommodation close to station and shops (only 3 train stops to Heathrow). Rooms were neat and clean and perfect for a short stay. The manager and staff were very helpful and accommodating.

    I didn't really spend mush time in Hounslow as I had flown in from Greece and had a late arrival. I was only staying to give a break from traveling before making my journey to Nottingham, my final destination

    Not much to do in Hounslow but it connects well to London...

    Not much to do in Hounslow but it connects well to London and the Heathrow. More economical to stay in Hounslow and travel into London. Nice hotel for every pocket. Lots of pubs eating places most cuisines available.

    I often stay in Hounslow as it is very close to Heathrow. I often stay in Hounslow when arriving on a late flight, or leaving on an earlier flight. It has all the facilities of a town centre, such as shops, banks, places to eat, etc.

    I was absolutely appalled by my stay at this miserable hotel...

    I was absolutely appalled by my stay at this miserable hotel. The beds were a nightmare - imagine sleeping on a wooden plank with a paper-thin mattress that guaranteed zero comfort and maximum back pain. The room was so tiny and claustrophobic that I felt like I was trapped in a closet, with zero wardrobe space and barely enough room to move. To make matters worse, there was no drinking water provided, and when I asked for a bottle, they had the audacity to charge me 4 pounds! The entire experience was a complete disaster, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place like the plague. Hands down the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune of staying in.

    We were accommodated with a check in slightly earlier than advertised which allowed us to store suitcases before heading to an event in Central London. Very grateful for that. The Hotel was clean with the rooms being particularly clean and comfortable. Had a really comfortable and peaceful sleep. The room has everything needed for comfort with TV, good Tea and Coffee selection and good shower with Drum Head. Paid a little extra for the Breakfast which was worth it also. Overall a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

    We had a pleasant stay at this homestay. The location is excellent — it took about an hour to get into central London via both bus and train, with public transport options just a short walk away. There’s also a grocery shop nearby for essentials and a pizza place just around the corner, which was very convenient. The homestay itself was clean and generally comfortable. Overall, it’s a good place if you’re visiting in cooler weather and want easy access to London with nearby amenities.

    The location of this particular Ibis is the main reason for booking my one night stay. It's very close to Hounslow Central tube station, roughly 5-6 minutes walking distance. The facilities are fair and I cannot fault them for the price I paid via booking.com. I'd certainly recommend to family & friends if they are staying with that area of London. A major plus is having a Tesco express next door!!!

    The location was good for getting into central London on Piccadilly line. Quite a way but no changes. The staff were welcoming and we left car safely in their car park. Room was clean as was the hotel itself.
