We went for the May Bank Holiday weekend so enjoyed the Duck...
We went for the May Bank Holiday weekend so enjoyed the Duck Race, the Craft Fair, the Tractor Run and the maypole dancing within the Ryedale Folk Museum. It really is a lovely village set on the edge of the moors. Was a little difficult to book evening meals or tickets for outings as no internet so had to think a bit ahead and do this when internet available when we were out. Can recommend the Blacksmiths in Lastingham, and also The Kings Head and the Black Swan at Kirkbymoorside too for meals. The village is beautiful , the residents take great care in...
The village is beautiful , the residents take great care in its upkeep and appearance. The museum is interesting (closed Friday). The one and only inn is closed Monday and Tuesday. The menu is limited to basic pub grub however I understand that the Barn Tea rooms are offering early evening meals on these days so it is worth checking that out before you go.
