The location was very relaxing and quiet. Such a pretty outlook. The lounge was a lovely place to quietly read and we enjoyed the books and magazines on offer. The staff were friendly and chatty. Kacey is extremely friendly and very responsive. We enjoy our stay very much. Hospitality is top notch as she makes a point to to check in on us. It might be a bit to locate but Kacey gave good instructions. Follow it and you will get to this wonderful cottage. Breakfast is really sumptuous and big thumbs up. The selections are really one of the best we have ever had. Home made peanut granola is awesome!! Make sure to try it!!! Room is huge, clean and comfortable!!

We had an amazing stay at Hawthorns b&b. The hosts made us and our dogs feel super welcome. They gave us a lot of tips for sightseeing and made nice conversation. The room, bed, and shower were very good as well. We had a beautiful view of the fields from our room, and in the morning, we had a great homemade breakfast. We would definitely come back! The views were incredible, and enjoying the firepit in the brisk Scottish weather was a treat in and of itself. Communication was super fast and responsive! It was super cozy, the cabin was clean and stayed warm despite the wind and the rain. Really made our honeymoon trip around Scotland something special!

John O Groats is a very small place. which sort of has to be visited if your in the area. I wouldn't rate it as a destination if it wasn't for the fact its the northern most point on mainland UK

The John O'Groats visitor centre has a range of shops and...

The John O'Groats visitor centre has a range of shops and eateries aimed at tourists. The parking fee is £3.50, but you can stay all day. The cafes tend to close early - from 5pm to around 6.30. After that there is only the Seaview Hotel. The centre wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be and we were able to take photos at the iconic sign post. We took a walk along to Duncansby Head. It was too late in the season for nesting birds (no puffins!) but the views were spectacular. (See Wikipedia for more info.)

Hotel dirty got put in a b&b not in the hotel even though I paid for a hotel not a b&b Was told no rooms in the hotel yet surprise when we told them we was on the phone to booking.com the 2 rooms we paid for suddenly became available breakfast was nice

Loved the location and the staff were lovely, unfortunately didnt like the breakfast it was ver small and greasy, meal in the evening though was excellent. Room was sub standard, toilet kept blocking, could barely get in and out of shower as gap so small, window wouldnt close and room had no clothes storage and only one bedside table, very small and stuffy also. Would not stay here again

We were there the end of April and basically nothing was...

We were there the end of April and basically nothing was open yet. Our only dinner choice was a fish and chips food truck that stopped taking orders at 18,30. The cafe that serves coffee and food didnt open till 10,00, so if you need to leave before then keep it in mind. Other than that, it is a beautiful location, just from the pier we saw many seals and otters. The trip to the lighthouse and walk from there to the stacks was incredible, we saw a few puffins nesting in the cliffs. I wish we had had more time to explore the area and beaches.

Managed to get some lovely fish & chips in the store house...

Managed to get some lovely fish & chips in the store house which was delicious and we loved the little pub/ bar in the last house John ogroats brewery . Coffee and pastries this morning before we left in stacks deli which was also delicious. All the staff in the shops were so friendly and helpful.

The owner was lovely. Picked me up from the john o groats sign and dropped me off to start my walk in the morning, without charging. Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit, juice, ciffe and a range of cereals to chose from. The room was big, heating was warm I saw a deer from the window, and the shower was nice.

So it was a bit of a puzzle to get the hotel key, you receive a name and code, it has a color scheme, we had SAND, something and it took us a bit to figure it out. Once in the room, a large space with living room, big bed, kitchen and a nice bathroom. Simply lovely and great view onto the Sea. Very peaceful.

Amazing location, a small walk away from John o groats / 2 minute drive away. The property had very secure parking and the owner was nice and friendly. The cottage itself has history which is interesting, and for the price you can’t go wrong

Both the cottage and the setting are lovely. Spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Lots to see and do in the area. The coastal path is lovely for an after dinner walk out to John o Groats and Duncansby Ness.
