The Dog & Bear was very comfortable.
The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people.
A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people. Next time I stay, I will hopefully take in a stroll, the weather wasn't great, for the short time we were there. I can imagine during the Spring and Summer months, how beautiful the village square would be.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval...
Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval church. I went to the local shop to buy some dog food and they let the dog in. I chatted to locals and visited some more of the shops all dog friendly. The village is beautiful and has a range of pubs and restaurants which I didn’t get chance to use. It was a really nice place to stay for a night. I would have like to have stayed longer. To top it off I heard a nightingale on my walk. I’ll definitely be back. We stayed in the Victoria room, which was beautiful. The food for dinner was brilliant and the area is so peaceful and relaxing. We stayed as a birthday celebration for my partner and the staff made a "Happy Birthday" plate with sweet treats, which was a lovely surprise for him. Our room was in an old part of the pub, complete with wooden beams and wonky floors - extremely quirky and characterful, but still comfortable. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The Marble Hall, chandeliers, staircase, paintings and Dogs of Fo! Everywhere had something amazing to look at! The room we stayed in was huge and had everything we needed and more.
