We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful location over the Christmas period. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, greeting us upon arrival with tea, coffee and mince pies. Much appreciated after a long drive. The cooked breakfast was the perfect size for us and I can especially recommend the home-made jam on hot buttered toast. All served with plenty of lovely hot coffee and tea.

Plas Esgair is magnificent, to say the least. Every detail tells a story. We were absolutely gutted that we booked only one night and had to leave. This place deserves a longer stay, long strolls around property, long evenings with crackling fireplace and long look around. Every room is unique, comfortable. Hosts are absolutely AMAZING. Dinner was delicious, wine was a vibe and breakfast was great! If old artwork, antiques, candles and warm welcome is your thing - we cannot recommend this place enough. We even got some route suggestions for our further plans, took them and gasped as we drove through the most beautiful roads of Wales! 🤍 THANK you, Martin!🤍

Lovely place with absolutely great hosts who create an unique and friendly atmosphere, they are very communicative and will help with anything they can Breakfast was delicious and freshly made The room was bigger than I expected, with 2 beds and a little desk, spacious bathroom with great products Views are absolutely magnificent, at night the sky full of stars and the hills during the day WiFi was free and of high speed, no problem with watching 4K movies

Gorgeous location and very well set up to enjoy the outside area, but equally cosy in-doors. We really appreciated the TV set up. The surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful.

    Llanbrynmair is nice but as there was a road closure it was...

    Llanbrynmair is nice but as there was a road closure it was a nightmare journey coming from Blaenau Ffestiniog direction going through extremely narrow lanes, the best way was to come from Newtown direction which we did once we arrived at Talerddig. We know this wouldn't normally be a problem but it was whilst we were there. The countryside is stunning, and very peaceful once the jet fighters stop flying :-) Listening to the birds, the horses neighing and lovely sunny weather.

    Good property but well off the beaten track.

    Good property but well off the beaten track. Nearest town 10 miles away and pleased I arrived in daylight hours to find location. Helpful Hostess. Easy parking outside property. Good breakfast choice & homemade jams. Tranquil location - great for walkers, ambitious cyclists. Lots of attractions in this part of Wales and tourist information in the bedroom wold be helpful to those seeking inspiration.

    A Georgian mansion under renovation in a wonderfully remote...

    A Georgian mansion under renovation in a wonderfully remote location. Ideal for walking, birdwatching and getting away from modern madness. The owner/hosts are very helpful and friendly. Great for our dog, who was also made very welcome. The house is straight out of central casting for an Agatha Christie novel. Much more interesting to us than a modern, sterile hotel. Not for everyone, but we loved it.
