Since Wilson Lodge, Maidenhead Pulled a Bait and Switch, we wound up going back towards the Airport for much more honest accommodations, what little we saw of Maidenhead, we are sorry we missed it, seems to be a nice little town,

Maidenhead is a calm and pleasant riverside town, ideal for a peaceful day trip. Enjoy walks along the Thames, visit nearby Cliveden House, or explore the charming village of Cookham. The town centre is a bit dated, but the riverside spots and countryside views make up for it. Easily accessible from London via the Elizabeth Line — perfect for a quiet escape from the city.

Maidenhead it’s self was not really to our taste however the location itself and the riverside and next village Taplow was lovely. Close to train stations at Maidenhead and taplow for getting to London which was the purpose of our trip and found travel straightforward. Had some lovely meals by the river. The feathers pub in taplow and toby carvery on the Sunday hit the spot after a day of sightseeing.

Boulters lock/monkey island and the new bridge to the other...

Boulters lock/monkey island and the new bridge to the other side of the river are musts to visit but the car park payment machine is dilapidated and wasn't taking cash nor my card. The town centre is good, the charity shops are well stocked with good quality items, banks are plentiful, parking isn't . Things will improve greatly when the Premier Inn opens because accommodation is otherwise appalling . Parking is always a problem . Busses and trains are readily available . White Waltham aerodrome is worth going to, there are a number of historic planes there . Ockwells Manor and Manor Lane are worth the drive . Cox Green school, the Barley Mow, and the fish and chip shop in Wessex way are a must, not necessarily in that order . What maidenhead needs is a reasonably priced multi storey car park in the town centre and a Tesco supermarket .

The location, on the bank of the Thames and within easy walking distance of the centre of Maidenhead, was perfect for us. We were able to book a room at very short notice. The two receptionists who answered queries by phone and whom we saw while at the hotel were extremely professional and helpful.

It was great that the hotel could accommodate our dog. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff gave us a warm welcome and really went the extra mile, e.g. providing fresh milk in the fridge. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, short walk to Maidenhead centre, and the room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the fact it wasn't overly heated, as some hotels are so hot it is difficult to sleep!
