Middlewich is a small town with a few town centre pubs and restaurants. Not very far from the town, there are walks along the canal path with a busy working lock. Loved the place it was OK for our stay and we could compare both rooms one was bijou and modern for our daughters and ours a large family suite. Walk in the opposite direction along the canal path and there's a working lock just a short walk away. There's a gastropub where you can watch the narrow boats negotiating the lock from the veranda of the pub. The landlady of the Newton Brewery Inn is very helpful and friendly and the drinks were very reasonable prices.
