Perfect fo visiting our family in Thatcham for early Xmas. Easy to find the hotel, lots of parking, very quiet bedrooms and lovely ambience in the Berkshire Arms itself for dining. We should have been asked if either of us would have difficulty in climbing stairs and walking long distances to our room. We should have been told that the fixed radiator did not work and that the second, portable type, was in the room for that reason. The window in the room needed to be draught proofed. Well situated for cycling along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Good rail links both west and east. Attractive countryside away from the A4, e.g. back roads to Hungerford which we cycled. Lovely breakfast if smoked salmon and poached egg, my partner had the farmers breakfast hash which he loved. Tea and coffee in the room was better than other hotels with a great variety and fresh milk. Will definitely stay again, loved sitting in the wrap round outside area too.
