The Ship Inn was a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Mousehole. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed for our one night stay. The pub downstairs was cosy and quirky with plenty of seaside charm. The food on the dinner menu was great and the included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Would recommend The Ship Inn to anyone visiting Mousehole.

Fantastic location with a stunning view within easy walking distance (5mins) of Mousehole. The inside was super cosy, tonnes of firewood provided as well as a full kitchen with all appliances/cutlery/cookware etc. There was plenty of space for all six adults in bedrooms and living areas. We also liked that there was washing machine and dryer. Thank you so much for having us

The 10 minute wak to the train and bus station is fabulous. Lots of choices for day trips. T h e hotel is a n old house converted. B and B atmosphere with lots of decor items a B d cozy places to sit. No elevator so be aware if mobility issues. My single room was clean and cozy. Could be stuffy in hot weather. Oct. Was fine and 2 windows open but no screens. The single bed was a bit soft for me. But fine. The breakfast is lovely. Fruit, toast, cereal, yogurt, bakery selection meats abd cheeses. An egg station cooked to your liking, bacon, potatoes fried. Very nice staff. Polite, friendly, etc. I arrived at 9 pm in rain i am easily confused in new places.Took taxi. Taxi right there just srand by t h e sign- only 4 pounds. Easily walked. But note up hill. Need light luggage. The pub right by t h e train st ation has good food choices. Good prices. Locals come to watch games on a huge TV. Nice. A separate dining area for non sports people. Had one dinner at th e hotel. Nice service. Upscalish food choices. Tasty.

Mousehole, as the name suggests, is very small.

Mousehole, as the name suggests, is very small. It is really cute and typically querky. Parking is 'difficult' as the roads are very narrow and not one way. There are a few souvenier shops but for anything else you need to go elsewhere. Best to park in the paid car park by the old cost-guard. The best restaurant is Number 2 shore Street, it is expensive but the quality is amazing and the staff are great! Also The Honey Pot in Penzance is fabulous for cafe type food and they will be doing evening dining soon.

Mousehole (pronounced "Mowzel") is the epitome of charm.

Mousehole (pronounced "Mowzel") is the epitome of charm. The Harbor has a small beach and people swim at high tide. There are bigger beaches just a bus ride (or two away) -- we went to Sennen Beach (out near Land's End) and Marazion Beach (near St Michael's Mount). Of course the SW Coastal Path goes through Mousehole, so that's ideal. We visited one week before the official start of the "season," and the weather was fantastic (warm enough for swimming). I would imaging that high season would be crowded, though. The bus into Mousehole from Penzance is small (because of the quaint old roads) and I would guess it gets packed, but it runs every 20 minutes and the bus system overall in Cornwall is fantastic -- no need at all for a car! Everyone was extremely friendly to us, although we heard that locals are grumbly that a lot of Mousehole real estate has turned over to tourist rentals and second homes for weathly Londoners--so true of many desirable holiday locations.

Three nights in Mousehole was just enough for a nice autumn break. It's compact and pretty, the two Quay car parks (North and South) can fill up quite quickly although we always got a space, price £5 per 24 hours, card payment accepted at the machines. Other parking available slightly further out of town. Good bus service to Newlyn and Penzance. The Ship pub food and ale is good; fish menu at No. 2 Fore St restaurant exceptional. Mousehole Deli serves from breakfast coffees through to dinner in its upstairs restaurant. Be sure to bring everything you need as there is no general store nearby.

Mousehole is a beautiful little village, very picturesque but the roads are quite narrow which can make driving a little bit tricky at times. Parking can be difficult if you are trying to park near the harbour front so you may want to park at the top of the village and walk down. We didn't try the restaurants in Mousehole as a little too pricy and not much of a selection for us personally. We ate at the Ship Inn which had a good variety to choose from and the staff were very friendly. Lovely atmosphere in the village including the shop keepers and the community so worth a stay there if you can.

Lovely location and a really spacious and well equipped house. Loved the log burner, Netflix in the evening, coffee on the terrace in the morning. Beautiful views and so quiet yet very close to the centre. Mousehole is very charming with some amazing coastal walks. Easily able to park an SUV on the driveway with plenty of room to fully open the doors and boot. Would definitely re-book if coming to Mousehole again.
