If you like peace and quiet, birdsong, stunning views, spectacular walks and supremely comfortable, well equipped and warm accommodation with a charming, welcoming host, look no further! Treetops is unique! The topography is pretty demanding, hence its beauty, so be prepared for steep, narrow lanes and breathtaking footpaths with breathtaking views. Nearest town Lynton is a lovely place.
Nearest town Lynton is a lovely place. We discovered an excellent tapas bar there called Oak Wall. We did not eat at the hotel but were informed by another guest that the food was excellent. Was expecting host to be present at breakfast time. But plenty of space in kitchen provided. Breakfast was basic but good. The room was lovely, very clean and tidy. It would have been lovely to sit in the garden beneath our room as such a lovely view, but it was overgrown and not accessible. Patio available only has sun first thing and not the same view. Parracombe village is remote , quiet and picturesque.
Parracombe village is remote , quiet and picturesque. Despite hourly buses to Barnstaple & Plymouth a car is pretty much essential. Would not recommend Parracombe or the Fox and Goose to all and sundry but I would to friends who appreciate this environment. The view was the lounge window was excellent. we saw a beautiful sunset over the hills with the sea in the distance. Desi who runs the hotel was very helpful and friendly. She had useful tips for things to do nearby. The gardens were beautiful. The apartment was comfortable.
