Pembridge is an attractive village, lined with black & white cottages. I had a drink at the New Inn, which also serves meals, it's a most attractive olde-world pub with terracotta coloured walls - very snug! I also shopped at the village shop, which is set out as though it's in someone's living room. The building is up for sale as at August 2025 so I don't know if the new owners will keep it as a shop. Look out for the Verdun Oak Memorial too, it's an interesting piece of history. There's a main road which goes through the heart of the village and it's a shame more drivers don't observe the 20mph speed limit. I also visited nearby Eardisland, which I think I actually prefer over Pembridge. It's a quintesential English village which I really recommend. I also recommend Westonbury Mill Water Gardens just outside Pembridge. It has the world's second largest water-powered Cuckoo clock and a domed-shaped shelter made from 2000 wine bottles. It has a fantastic cafe too, which I visited twice. I only wish it was closer to home!

As an area to cycle around we found Pembridge and North Herefordshire both interesting and enjoyable. The country lanes at this time of year have very little traffic on them, the black and white villages are a delight to see, and the en route cafes and pubs are welcome stop off refreshment places.
