I loved the energy of the staff, helped me when I forgot some items and he was a great company to talk to. I usually am quiet but was very comfortable and a bit chatty during my stay. Had a good rest too, this stemmed from the fact that the place was clean.

Its a lovely quirky hotel set in the heart of the town with easy access to local amenities, restaurants and main roads to nearby towns. The family rooms (203 and 204) were clean, comfortable, and well maintained - a good honest value for money 2 night break. The staff were polite and exceptionally friendly, and we were reminded that if we needed anything at all, just to call in at the reception. Nothing is too much effort, and Alex was a wonderful hostess. The breakfasts are hearty and well worth adding on if you're staying. Stay for lunch, have a drink at the bar, mingle with the locals and take your time to soak up the history of this fine old school hotel! We will be back!

Great location- not far off M6 on way to Scotland. Clean room excellent shower - breakfast amazing. Janice very friendly and helpful and booked us into the nearby pub for dinner

Excellent stay, great peaceful location, excellent information from the host and spotlessly clean. It was only a one night stop over for us but had everything we needed and more. If we are back in the area again we would definitely stay longer, very highly recommend thank you.

Everything, clean, tidy honestly the place is stunning. I have managed hotels in the last year and so i know what is expected. Everything is there in the kitchen for what you need. The log fire is lovely and warm. Its so peaceful and relaxing. The bed is so comfy. Ermm defiantly 10/10 :)

    No Instructions on how to control the boiler, either too hot or cold. Radiators either on full or cold. Gas fire did not light. Shower room stank of hot oil. Good Eating at Hunters in Bowness about a 45 minute walk. Great bird watching opportunities. Many very good walks within walking distance.
