We went to the Lady Lever Art gallery, which is well worth a visit. Had tea in the tea rooms opposite Port Sunlight train station, as the tea rooms at lady lever was temporarily closed. This was a return trip to an area that I had lived in for 39 years. I am glad to say that very little has changed in the overall view of the Village, however, I was not there for the Village but to visit the graves of family members in and around the Wirral and the Village was simply a Central Hub for my plans. Lovely little town, which is worth exploring, Hulme Hall has special significance for Beatle Fans as it is the first place the Beatles played a few days after Ringo replaced Pete Best. The station is located at Port Sunlight, so the Wirral line gives easy access to Liverpool and Chester. The Bridge Inn is a typical older pub, and accommodation is basic but acceptable. But on 2nd day as we had not booked specific time slot night before ( no staff around anyway! ) they were about to tell us we couldn't have any... there was No One else there! Then the toast was green mouldy but guy did reimburse me cash for it Liked the bar / terrace outside/ location/ old grandeur of hotel .
