Great gem to stay in while in Liverpool. Everything was close by and really enjoyed the size of the rooms. We stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday night so did not have to worry about the sound outside - I can imagine It could be loud on a weekend. The brunette woman who showed us to our room was really kind and lovely. Would stay here again!!

We went to the Lady Lever Art gallery, which is well worth a visit. Had tea in the tea rooms opposite Port Sunlight train station, as the tea rooms at lady lever was temporarily closed. With more time we would have had a good look around the village and it's beautiful historic buildings.

This was a return trip to an area that I had lived in for 39 years. I am glad to say that very little has changed in the overall view of the Village, however, I was not there for the Village but to visit the graves of family members in and around the Wirral and the Village was simply a Central Hub for my plans. I also know the History of the Village which made the stay even better.

Lovely little town, which is worth exploring, Hulme Hall has special significance for Beatle Fans as it is the first place the Beatles played a few days after Ringo replaced Pete Best. The station is located at Port Sunlight, so the Wirral line gives easy access to Liverpool and Chester. The Bridge Inn is a typical older pub, and accommodation is basic but acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I have stayed there twice over the last several years and would happily go back again if the opportunity arises.

Breakfast great on first day. But on 2nd day as we had not booked specific time slot night before ( no staff around anyway! ) they were about to tell us we couldn't have any... there was No One else there! Then the toast was green mouldy but guy did reimburse me cash for it Liked the bar / terrace outside/ location/ old grandeur of hotel . One member of staff - a lady - can't remember her name was brilliant. Rest of the girls were sullen and grumpy and couldn't be bothered to speak.

The cottage is a delight, full of original features yet with a tasteful modernization, very comfortable indeed, immaculately presented in every way. There is parking on site and the railway station is a short walk away, to get to Liverpool, Chester etc. Communication and advice from our host was first class. It felt a privilege to stay in an original cottage at Port Sunlight and everything was beyond expectations. With thanks
