Portishead is a very smart town, kept very clean. It has a lovely marina, within easy walking distace of the coast. Enjoy watching the big boats go by at high tide to the docks. Also watchng the smaller boats going in and out of the large lock. It's worth going to the town centre where there is a selection of retaurants. The Indian Empire restaurant in the High Street was excellent. We will visit Portishead again. There is also an excellent bus service to other resorts and Bristol,Guest review byRees - 10

A town that has grown a lot in size but still retains a small town feel with a bustling high street with many local businesses. The marina is impressive and a good place for a pleasant walk. Stoney beaches are very accessible and while they are not ideal for bathing they afford good views across the channel. We particularly enjoyed walking around the marina & on out along the coastline heading south. The town centre was busy, the usual shops were found along the High Street, plus some independents. The beach is not really viable - lots of signs warning of 'sinking sands'. Some good places to eat in the Marina & near the harbour.
