Chapel Cross is a beautiful guesthouse. Brian greeted us and made us feel very welcomed. Our room was beautiful decorated and the facilities were excellent. Perfect place to explore the local area and also easy to travel into the centre of Edinburgh.

Stable Cottage provided us with a truly delightful and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the generous size of the cottage, offering ample space to unwind and feel at home. The interior decoration was a particular highlight, beautifully designed and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Comfort was clearly a priority, and we found the cottage to be exceptionally well-equipped and furnished. One of the standout features was the lovely garden, a true haven of tranquility. It proved to be an excellent addition, especially for those traveling with a dog, offering plenty of space to roam and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative, making us feel instantly at ease. Their helpfulness and attention to detail greatly enhanced our experience. They were readily available to answer any questions and provided valuable local recommendations.

The hotel has a nice traditional and cute character. The owners will also buy you drinks in the inhouse pub, downstairs, which is always a plus. The room was very clean and the housekeeper always left a couple of nice butter cookies and water. It has a lot of good cafes and restaurants nearby. Very kind and helpful stuff. Would stay again for sure.

We really like that the Scott was within walking distance (30min walking) from the city but far enough that could sleep in peace. It's a beautiful hotel, the staff is AMAZING! They really did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Melville Castle is a wonderful place. The park is absolutely beautiful and very quiet. I had a lovely room with a view to the horses, so cosy and well decorated. All the castle is just amazing and confortable. Food is delicious, the barmaid is very nice and has good advices , everybody is making his best to make you enjoy your stay. The breakfast was wonderful.

    From the freshly baked bread that we were greeted with to the warm welcome we received, the whole stay was amazing. So much space as we have a young baby, this really helped. The hosts Dave & Irene make the accommodation what it is. The attention to detail is second to none. A beautifully styled and homely place to stay. Would recommend to anyone. So clean and fresh.     It was a beautiful place.

    It was a beautiful place. It has everything you need to be comfortable and more! We really enjoyed our stay. The bus stop to Edinburgh was just a few steps from the place and for a few pounds it took us directly to the Royal Mile. We left the car at the property. The owner is great. He gave us information about the country, advises, maps, etc. The property is perfect and it has thoughtful things to make your stay pleasant.

    What a wonderful atmospheric chapel.

    What a wonderful atmospheric chapel. And the grounds were amazing too. We had a talk from a local lady who had lots of detailed descriptions of how the chapel came to be erected - and the stories surrounding the people who owned it, or worked there, or were apprenticed there. The site has a great Visitor Centre, with a varied selection of goodies to buy as mementos of our visit. They also have a cafe selling a range of snacks, breakfasts, brunches and lunches., hot and cold drinks. Super place, extraordinary chapel, interesting grounds and helpful, pleasent staff. I wouldn't say no to a repeat visit if we happen to be in the area again. 5 star+ experience.

    I can highly recommend Templar loft. It was a 10\10 for us.

    I can highly recommend Templar loft. It was a 10\10 for us. I found it on booking.com and would absolutely return to visit this area again with my husband. This trip was with my 15 ur old daughter and we found it perfect. The bus 37 is right outside and takes you right into Edinburgh. There is a quaint little coffee attached too.

    I took an OS guided walk along the river valley on a beautiful summer's evening. Peaceful and beautiful. Once in the city of Edinburgh, it shows itself well as a European capital, busy, historic and plenty to see and do. We ate at the local restaurant Cibo which was a very traditional UK Italian restaurant, senior clientele but very good food; the sauce base and break base authentic - they should focus on their traditional items, though.

    Spacious accommodation for two people, well laid out, furnished and equipped and very practical. Superb views over fields, Roslin Glen and towards the Pentland Hills. The outside space is lovely, with a private good-sized garden and a pretty, flower-filled terrace. Very friendly and cheerful hosts. It's good to have a car to explore the area, but the property is also accessible by public transport (train and bus) and a 12-15 minute walk.

    Decor was quirky but possibly not to everyone’s taste. We wanted to visit Roslin chapel which is literally just over the road, so that was great. We were driving so getting in to Edinburgh is also easy - about 30 min drive depending on traffic, weather etc. accommodation has its own limited parking but plenty of on street parking outside. Cafe downstairs and pub across the road also very convenient.

    We greatly enjoyed our stay at Roslin Glamping. A lovely, comfortable and spacious tent in a beautiful setting not far from Edinburgh! Michael is a most friendly and accommodating host; he even put an extra small bed in the tent so our granddaughter could sleep over with us for one night.
