This was a lovely cabin in a great location, within walking distance to the main centre with amazing views. Very homely with so many nice touches, I met with the host Alison who was really knowledgeable and gave us lots of tips about the island and where we could take our dog. We visited in February and of course Scotland in February is freezing, being a cabin it is cold but the owners have obviously considered this a lot as there is a radiator in the main living area and bedroom and a heated towel rail in the en suite, there is also a fire, slippers, electric blanket and a box of blankets available to keep you toasty and warm. So thoughtful. I will be looking forward to staying here again.

Sophie was amazing and greeted us at our car when we arrived. Our room was high up but Sophie helped with our luggage (great for me as pre knee surgery). View was amazing. Room was so quaint and lovely. Family helped when we packed up. All around A plus experience.

    Rothesay is special to us as is my husband,s birthplace...

    Rothesay is special to us as is my husband,s birthplace which he left as a boy to come to England. But even without this nostalgia trip, Bute is a wonderful island, with beautiful natural scenery, great walks and woodland trails. We spent a lot of time beachcombing along the shore, collecting shells and lovely stones to bring home. Lovely variety of food to be had in Rothesay and nearby places. Rothesay has some big hills but views from the top are spectacular if you can make it- walking or by car!

    The pubs were disappointing with an almost total lack of real ale. Very disappointed in the lack of locally produced goods to purchase and take away- cheese, honey, jam etc. Some nice cafes and snackbars. Could not find a bookshop. Transport by bus was good. Castle and museum were both good.

    Real community feel; the islanders were very welcoming and engaging. Bute is a lovely, accessible island with lovely scenery and beaches. we particularly enjoyed Mount Stuart House and Gardens and the wonderful food at Ettrick Bay Cafe.

    Rothesay (and the whole island) is very laid back and stress...

    Rothesay (and the whole island) is very laid back and stress-free. The place has a wonderful calm atmosphere, unlike other tourist spots, which needs to be experienced to believe. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Easy to get round island by bus or sightseeing bus. We loved Ettrick Bay and Kilchattan Bay.

    I liked the relaxed vibe on the Island. Enjoyed my stay and views at the Cadillac hotel. Enjoyed a meal and beers at the Kustom Cadillac Hotel. Enjoyed the Taverna Pub in Rothsey. The open bus tour of the Island. A tour of the spectacular Mount Stewart House/ Castle. Rothsey golf course and a bit of fishing in the Firth of Clyde. Also enjoyed the 35 minute Ferry Cruise!

    Beautiful scenic island and always seems to keep its secure...

    Beautiful scenic island and always seems to keep its secure safe environment at all times unlike many places in Scotland today . So much history but feel that Scottish Government are not helping here as Winter Palace visitor centre shutting on October 8th as are most Visitor centres . Ettrick Bay and tearoom ,Bute House .Rothesay Castle.Scalpsie Bay and the seals ,Port Bannatyne, The list goes on

    This was my base for three days of walking amd cycling on Bute.  A good sized comfortable room with pleasant sea view (unlike my usual experiences of single rooms buried in the backends of hotels).  Excellent breakfast with lots of choices each morning set me up well for the days activities.  A very comfortable bed, I slept well each night (or maybe that was all the walking).  Sockets by the bed for charging phone, and a well-stocked tea tray. Kristine is a very friendly hostess and I would happily stay here again.

    The hotel is as impressive as the pictures. Take The Shining, mix it with Fawlty Towers and add a hint of 20th century glamour. Nice, spacious room. We really appreciated the bath: excellent for relaxing the muscles after a long walk. View from the room (we took one with sea view) was great. Rooms are super quiet, we slept like babies. Bar personnel were very friendly and helpful. Location: just 5 min walk from the ferry and Rothesay center / buses.
