Great beach with lots of activity to watch.
Great beach with lots of activity to watch. Surfers, swimmers, horse riders, pier. We were blessed with brilliant weather which helped. Downside is getting up and down to the beach, I counted 181 steps. There is the funicular tram on the cliff which helps. Plenty of places to eat and very clean. Saltburn by the Sea has a charm all of it's very own waiting to be discovered. We hope to return asap. Without giving too much away that says it all really. As a couple, we were there over a weekend and were surprised by the number of buzzing bars and selection of eateries open in the evenings. Our favourites were No 23 they managed to squeeze us in and we had the best ever wood fired pizza that had fresh and very generous toppings. I had the Mediterranean recommended by a very helpful, friendly member of staff. We also loved the little wine bar KOZE (which I think is a café during the day.). Lovely small town with cafes and bars a plenty.
Lovely small town with cafes and bars a plenty. Excellent beach but as we had our spaniel with us we weren't able to walk on it as 1st May to September 30th it's a no dog beach except the little bit to the right of the pier. So we had to jump in the car and go to Marske for the long beach walk which is vey close and lovely. We visited most of the bars and cafes on Milton Street including Gunns, No 23 and the bakery (I can't remember the name of) and all were very good. Also Koze was great too sitting out front and the tapas looked really nice. We ate breakfast at the Spa Hotel and it was faultless! Fabulous sands and seascape.
Fabulous sands and seascape. Bring your binoculars if you love watcing the ships out at sea. Lovely, clean and friendly place, peaceful, Fish & chips from Church Fisheries but ate on the beach. Also ate at Alessis Italian. Very good but a bit noisy.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Saltburn is a growing small resort.
Saltburn is a growing small resort. Plenty of independent bars and eateries to enjoy. I would highly recommend Signals for both food and drink, though are plenty of alternatives. The bar was good in the evening. The restaurant was good, breakfast was fine. The lounge area is lovely and furnishings are pleasing. Positioning of the hotel was a short walk to the funicular and pier. Parking on the road outside the hotel. There is not a lot to do in Saltburn, a very small centre and a few restaurants, but check opening times. We stayed in room 5 a lovely large comfortable room with sitting area which overlooks the dam, which was beautiful just to sit a watch. Bed was comfortable. So much space and so quiet. Has everything you need. It is above a charming pub but you can't hear anything.
