Stirling is a beautiful historic town with many fun sites to see. I needed more time to see them all. Stirling Castle should have a shuttle service bringing people up to the castle, Very limited parking and not conducive if you have a person with walking issues. Plan ahead. We only had half a day in Stirling and could have stayed much longer. Everyone in my family enjoyed the castle very much. My children actually asked to extend the time we had budgeted to see the castle, which is the first place this happened. Sterling is a fantastic place for a couple of days.
Sterling is a fantastic place for a couple of days. The castle is very impressive. They have free guided tours on the hour that are well worth the time invested. Along with the castle finding the Old Bridge, the Wallace Monument and out to Bannockburn for a different view. Holy Rude Church and Cemetery are quite fascinating. A day trip to Falkirk to see the Kelpies and the Forth Bridges is a must if you have an engineer along with you. Amazing!
Amazing! A must see place full of history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Didn’t want to leave. Stunning views from the top of Stirling Castle, Stirling Jail’s Observation Tower and the William Wallace Monument. Free shuttle bus every few minutes up to the monument and free to view from the outside. All historical attractions worth a visit for the view as well as the history. Stirling old town available to see on foot. Easy distance from restaurants and pubs too. Lots of nice restaurants to choose from. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland. The castle is an absolute must.
The castle is an absolute must. We spent 6 hours there and enjoyed every minute. Do take the guided tour that is included in the entrance price. Get there early if you want to park at the castle although it’s not so far from the city centre - just uphill!!!Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great transport links.

The hotel room 101 ground floor was perfect with a corner bay window, where my Dog could spy on everyone! Next to a fire door, very useful to empty car, ramp for luggage, handy to take dog walks! Staff all very helpful, Free Disabled Parking, saved £20, but only One blue badge bay! The Leisure Centre excellent, pool of 17m. Clean & warm, the Jacuzzi used 4times was Great, Steam room too! Stirling Castle which was our main purpose of the trip is close enough to walk (uphill) from the hotel. We heard its restaurant was very good, and had dinner there. It was indeed very good. The rooms are comfortable and the bar area downstairs is a great place to chill with friends and have a few drinks! The staff are very helpful and the breakfast is very tasty!
