We liked -Trentham Gardens - the museum of authentic kilns in Longton -the living mining museum. The gold mine. - the wonderful hill walks in the nearby Peak District - the nearby towns of Leeks and Buxton -the friendliness of people - We often had tea or coffee in the local tea-rooms. I went to play in the Stoke Chess Congess August 2025, and the Town Hall was great and my nearby accommodation on Cornwallis road was good. Stoke has the feel of a poor working class town, but has it's own vibrancy. Had a great meal with friends at the Sangam next to the Spode Rose Garden.
