We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. House was an amazing warren of interesting rooms for the kids to explore. Lots of sofas for lounging about in the evening. The kitchen was big enough to cook big dinners for everyone and sit down at the big kitchen table to eat. Lovely views from all the windows.
